I really don't understand the pundits saying we were lucky. They couldn't create anything, it was an offside goal and one of the worst mistakes that won't happen again that they scored from. They might mention the penalty but actually Luiz should have been sent off for diving, that is luck for you. It should have been at least 2-0 to us.

I really can't see them scoring at our place without us scoring a couple.

You need luck in this comp. the rags won it twice with luck.

Get an early goal at ours and then defend like anything. Stop those crosses first of all

I dont think we played anything like as well as we can but we stuck at it and deservedly got a great result ( although it could easily have been better but for that cock up).
Mangs had a cracking game and the 2 Ferns worked tirelessly. KDB was just class in a glass and although he got some stick tonight i thought Silva got stuck in and worked really hard.
Onwards and upwards lads and lasses ...get behind the lads on Tuesday and hopefully we get through and get easier of the teams left and then its the final .

agreed but the negative points override what we have done tonight,if united had secured two goals away from home in a quarter final all these tosser pundits would be wanking like fuck and not going on about how we are going fix it in the next couple of years
Just fuck `em all marco. We`ll never ever get the credit we deserve anyway.I`ve not seen anything else from Mills so I can`t really say much more, but we all know he`s another one who has issues with City.Very surprised with Owen tonight giving us so much credit.

Great result City..proud of you..show your colours lads n lasses..rags are bitter about this one.flying the flag for English football.

I'm not sure his passing will be that great ever but perhaps just about good enough. But he defended well tonight & is head & shoulders better than Otamendi imo.

Yeah, he'll always have that Lescott-esque awkwardness on the ball. Although Pep's training should improve it.

Otamendi really needs to step up.

Iheanacho will not be trusted to play a single minute of football in the champions league (unless Aguero and Bony get injured). And we took Nasri out of the squad to enable us to do this.
This is MP's biggest fault (and he has many). Not trusting a young player in favor of Bony who obviously doesn't care either way if City win and couldn't be bothered to give any effort at all is crazy. It's cost City dearly this domestically and everybody in the world can see it but the clueless manager.

Is it Yaya +1 in centre mid next week ?

If not, I think we have an absolutely great chance.

Yaya + Fernando with Dinho ahead/on the wing hopefully. Navas, De Bruyne and Aguero to make up the front 6. Silva off the bench if we need a goal, Kolarov and Delph if we want to shut it down.

SKY TWATS !!!!!!!!!!!

Just watching the news and as they cut away to the adverts they show a clip of coming up "Champions league blunder" showing the Fernando mistake. These bungle cunts cant give us any credit can they.

Bit harsh to say he doesn't care, I wouldn't say it after looking him celebrating League Cup.

He's just shit.

They had 64% possession

Pelligrini should find a way to improve for the next game

We cant let them control the ball most of the time

What a strange game. But either way, it leaves us in a great position.

Hart shows exactly why we could be looking to replace him. I blame hart more than fernando. When you're 1-0 up away from home in a CL QF, there's 5 minutes to half time, you have a goal kick and you simply aren't comfortable on the ball or any good at kicking the ball as a GK, then just knock it long into touch like you normally do.

Why he thought it would be a good idea to roll it to fernando with his back to play and under pressure, then offer no suggestion he would receive the ball back off him and instead points to touch is absolutely beyond me. That right there is what costs Hart and he doesn't seem to be learning.

He was at fault for their second too with a soft push back into danger, albeit Ibra was offside.

Other than that we were wide open and last ditch as per usual with Pellegrini, we should've been at least 3 down at half time but we got away with it.

In terms of the defence I thought mangala was decent but the way we play leaves the 2 CB's so exposed it's impossible for them to look at ease.

KdB and Fernandinho were immense.

Aguero disappointing.

We could quite easily win the second leg 3-0 and just as easily lose it 3-0 as well!
