Inflixi has now been surpassed and there are better drugs available now that do not involve infusions, just an injection at home.Loving it, infusions every 8 weeks but generally the last week or two can feel it wearing off. Had one this week and feel pretty much “normal”. Only got onto it due to not getting on with methotrexate then copping for the wonderfully named “corneal melt” which infliximab keeps at bay too. Am going to ask if I can get it more frequently, but only started last August so early days.
I have just come off a drug called Certolimzibab (Cimzia) that was excellent, Humira and Etanercept can also be used for RA, some of the newer ones will probably be OKd for use in RA too. Now many drungs are what they calling "coming off patent" other drug companies can make biosimilars which brings down the cost and makes them more available.
I think it is possible to have Inflixi more often than what you currently are, but to be honest now you are on biologics there are better ones that have less associated risk.
