pubs around anfield

Arkles if you get there early enough - they stop letting in when it gets too busy

For the league game I went into a bar/hotel called Epsteins. Its about 150 yards from the Hillsborough memorial on your right hand side as you walk away from the ground. No hassle with colours, in fact good banter.

i've been advised by a scouse mate not to wear colours on the way into the ground. i never imagined anfield would be like this but it's the 1st time i've been. is it that bad?

I'd recommend Thomas Frosts Wetherspoons on county road it's the same distance to Anfield as it is to Goodsion. The pints are cheap , they have a good selection of drinks and meals and you take kids in there. All the pubs round Anfield will be packed for a big game like this and the Arkles will be certainly full of City fans. If you want to be able to sit down have a pint and not have to worry about any trouble Thomas Frost is the best place to go. When Liverpool do reasonably well in the cup the pubs round Liverpool tend to be pretty full of Liverpool supporters some won't allow away supporters. Alternatively if your getting the train to Lime Street leave through the front entrance turn left down that road and there's loads of Irish pubs catering for the large Irish Catholic population. Alternatively cross the road from Lime Street going towards St Johns and take your first right then take a left and theres a large Wetherspoons with a huge taxi rank outside. This is on Great Charlotte Street.

With us taking 6k they wont want to know.

You wont meet a snider bunch of scallies, always picking off 2/3's

Detest them.

I went to Anfield to watch the FA Cup game the other week with my Oldham fan mate and we went for a few pints in The Arkle, it was full of Oldham fans singing songs. All numpys singing "zig a zaga zig a zaga Athletic! They do a nice pint in there anyway.
