Pubs for Burnley

Few places reccommended on Football ground guide, which is fairly reliable.

Think i'll give the cricket club a try

Watch out for police aswell as the fans, hit a seven year old with a batton on the weekend.
is that before or after the rovers fans ripped out the seats?
Probably after the game. Same friend updated their facebook with 'hahaahha hit samba the big / bastard with a coin and hit fat sam too hahahah' so I'm not too suprised a seven year old got hit, probably was kicking off himself... Burnley fans are scum tbf when it comes to matchday.

i took my two youngest back in 99, they were 7 at the time and they were threatened by 40 yr olds, and the police were overzealous with us then too

In 1999 the Burnley fans charged the Bus station (like there were any City fans there?) as they could not get at he City fans and starting kicking off there with inanimate objects.

Nothing happened in the cup match in 1999, already 5-0 up from first leg, it was like a low key friendly.

In 2001 it wasn't particulary hostile, but not friendly either.

After last Sunday's result it could go either way.

Yeah but he was a nasty little sod.

Been away from the big boys for a while Burnley so they will be up for it as will the Police. They are very parochial, i was in the local butty shop after they played Blackburn. The owner supports Burnley and was having a bit of banter with a customer. When she realised he was blackburn she kicked right off effing and blinding, before turning to me and saying "Usual Love?"
Another time I was in Nelson (extremely backward) at the jazz and blues festival. Orders a pint and the lad next to me asked me where I was from, I told him Manchester, to which he replied you a Utd fan? Course I said no, he smiles and says "Iwas gonna fucking twat you if you said you were a red." I could understand that but they do seem to have a major problem.

Do you mean the Colne R'n'B Festival? Distract the locals by pointing at the sky or frighten them by handing out small mirrors.

Yes I do, I tried that but they can't look up or walk down stairs for that matter.

If you do want a drink in Burnley the Inn on the Wharf and Bridge Bierhuis

I would avaoid the Bridge on match days before or after (not with colours on).

The Wharf should have plenty of City in as it is near the Manchester Rd Station the fans get off the train at, but I wouldn't bother going closer to the town centre if it is obvious you are city fans.

It is Burnely Blues festival all Easter weekend so a lot of pubs will have bands on, the Bridge is one of them and will be rammed.

The Talbot, White Hart and Spread Eagle would be worth going for beer if you have no colours and don't go chaved up.

By the Spread Eagle I presume you mean Sparrow Hawk? If so it is closed.

Away fans are regularly in the Bridge

Anywhere apart from the boozers near the ground for example - The Lounge, The Forresters, Brickmakers, Miners.

Boozers in the town centre can be ok but is often full of wankers.

Hare and Hounds in Holcombe Brook next to Ramsbottom, but behave yourselves, it's my local!

There will be a few blues having a booze in Rammy tomorrow.

Good Beer in the Hare and Hounds, but think most will be in the centre.

Don't go drinking in Burnley, seriously.

Go through Rawtenstall, over the tops, forget the M65.

Plenty of pubs on the way. Anyone who drinks in Burnley is on a suicide mission.

Although, in saying that, if you park at the cricket club, next to the ground, they let rival fans in and can also eat.

Decent place
