PUBS FOR LIVERPOOL AWAY

not too sure about round anfield.

but for the city centre...

the crown (right next to lime st) is a decent big old pub with a couple of rooms, big high ceilings and cains for £1.30!

the metropolitan (berry street, about 10mins walk from lime st) has a pretty relaxed atmos also a good selection of cheap beer, comfy sofas et al

there are good boozers in and around hardman street (5-10mins walk from line st)...the flute, fly in the loaf, the philharmonic. plus the pilgrim and ye crack are mad, crazy old pubs that do triples for 2 squid and a roast dinner lunches for £3

dunno bout wearin colours in these gaffs tho

Only trouble with those is your going in the opposite direction to the ground, and they are not close enough. Arkles or Orrys wont be a problem for you as long as you dont wear Red.

The Arkles is too expensive and a Liverpool fans pub isn't it? Why would red be a problem?

Liverpool's not like Manchester for wearing your colours. Places just aren't arsed... not too sure about weatherspoons and all that chain pub bullshit but all the places above and Heebie Jeebies etc are fine. Stay away from Concert Square though. Full of pricks, though you'll probably get more jip if you've got long hair rather than for wearing sky blue!

Last year we had a few drinks around the corner from Lime Street. Like someone has already said the Crown is ok and there is a couple of more pubs along the same stretch. I think one is called the Vine. Their is a Weatherspoons opposite the Crown.

Closer to the ground apart from the Arkles. We went to one called the Iron, next pub along going away from the ground. Only a small boozer but a few city in there last year.

I know a few people going to the Taxi Club in Walton. Which is a working mens club which lets away fans in and obviously a cheap pint.

If the Arkles is too rammed ,which it probably will be, the Flat Iron around the corner is well worth a visit, Whenever l've been its usually split 50/50 L'pool ,City, its a proper old style boozer and theres never any trouble, but good for a bit of friendly banter with the locals, like football should be.

Ma' Egertons is ok. turn right when get off train and its just over the road on the right. taxi rank on other side of road so can jump in cab to the ground.

go to Philharmonic and that also sometimes, good few pubs round there. norm pretty quiet in day
