The issue is that because RBS is still nationalised, these hideous bonuses are being payed for by the taxpayer. Our ticket money doesn't pay Bridge's wages.

Understand completely; and the tax being paid on his £4M is enhancing our economy - given that funding for our club is coming into the country. however anyone earning ridiculous wages should be taxed far more. imho.

A commonly used tactic by cheap politician attempting to be populist. Wayne bridge despite being obsolete, is in the entertainment business. People in the top level entertainment business earn a lot of money. How much does Jude Law earn? He isn't A list. If Jude Law was a footballer he would be in the E.D.S getting the occasional game in the first team.

I don't think he is. I'd say Cole and Coentrao are on more and I reckon possibly Lahm too.

Wouldn't say Hughes got it wrong at the time either. Possibly paid him too much but he was the right signing when he came.
