Question time tonight

Don't watch it.....did it have the usual tory plant in the audience?
No, just this whole thread. The Tories don't even know who the slimy Tory MP was. The one who asked Abbott if she knew what non flammable meant. She looked a bit confused as if it was a trick question - maybe it was - so she ignored it. There was of course a plant to wonder why Labour hadn't done anything - but while Labour hadn't made non flammable cladding compulsory (rather than low combustible) they hadn't had a coroner telling them they should make that change and responding by saying they'd "leave that to the professionals" (Eric Pickles after the Lakanal fire).

What you doing talking politics on this thread when it's obviously for Abbot bashing? Brought a few old bnp lovers out of the woodwork though..

Imagine her in a more serious role.
Home secretary. . . She would be a disaster.
Now imagine if you can . . . Emily Thornbury as foreign secretary. . . The rest of the world wouldn't talk to the UK for 4 or 5 years.
Thornbury would be a total nightmare for our foreign affairs.
However. . . .pillocks in the north west will vote for who their dad did.
Be very careful.
This is the calibre of people who could one day ruin . . .sorry run our country.
If they talk to Boris they'd talk to Emily.

Seriously, hearing a Tory worried about the calibre of Labour politicians is a joke. And May is worried about the calibre of the weapons pointing across the cabinet table...

There are a fair few on here obsessed by her. Must be a reason I suppose. Still you would think if they were that concerned by a politician’s competence they would go after someone like Chris Grayling who was widely regarded as being the worst Justice Minister in decades and was last seen implementing Labour policy and nationalising train companies. Perhaps the poor chap has forgotten which party he is in. Easily done I guess.

It's not nationalisation. It's er public er ownership unti we can cobble together a "partnership" between the publicly owned Network Rail and some nationalised train operator from the EU to lease trains from the same few companies as now and use the same few engineering companies as now to maintain the track and pay the same vast numbers of lawyers to write the contracts and the accountants to watch over all the payments between our bit of privatised railway and all the others.
