Questions for the Chairman

In Germany tickets are generally priced much cheaper than here in England. This allows more working class fans to attend and generally leads to a much better atmosphere in the stadium. There is a feeling that German fans are treated more like members of the club and English fans are treated more like customers. Would we as a club ever look to the German model in order to improve the atmosphere at our games and make games more affordable for working class fans?

Are there any outstanding legal, disciplinary or other cases or actions outstanding against the club and if so, is there any prospect of further attempted punishments including fines, points deductions, transfer or competition ban?

Please explain the rationale for signing up the ESL, what actions the club actually took, the discussions it has had and what protections will he bring in to ensure such action does not happen again?

Will the club, in light of the ESL and the further isolation of the supporter base, return to offering inclusive supporter interaction, for example inviting season card holders to participate in virtual points of blue meetings to question senior executives and hold them to account?

Why does he deny the right to hold him, Soriano, other execs and our sponsors (i.e. Puma with their kit efforts) to account?

Will he personally guarantee that no supporters will lose their seasoncard spot if they choose not to renew due to Covid concerns for 2021/22?

Why does the club not hold the media to account for their misinformation and how does he plan to tackle the American and Qatari scourge in our game?
These two just about cover everything I want answering.

Some great questions already...

Does the Sheikh believe the financial fair play model is fair to clubs such as City that do not rely on financing debt ?

(did he drive a Lamborghini down to Spain and how many camels would the dowry be for Kaz7? )

Thank you Prestwich Blue and I hope the club sees this truly as an opportunity to engage and not a tick box exercise. I'm interested to hear about the following and most of it is linked with repairing the damaged caused by our involvement with the ESL.
INTERNALLY RELATED.
1. TRANSPARENCY = TRUST. We want to know the rationale behind us entering the ESL. What was the rationale for declaring it a mistake and pulling out? Obviously football has unfortunately descended into big business so certain things cannot be disclosed but transparency should be a vehicle to maintain trust and confidence from the fan base...........unless there is something to hide.
2. I would be interested to know if fan reaction was the major driver towards pulling out? Interesting if it was because in that case presumably fan reaction would be a factor in ticket pricing also?
3. As part of repairing the damage and rewarding loyalty can the club please address areas of ticket pricing. I know some ST are cheap but an awful lot of people especially post COVID will be priced out. Especially the younger generation who would welcome the chance of cheap match tickets.
As a one off why not just pick at random 200 fans who have had season tickets longer than 10 years and charge 1/3 price? You could make a show if it and have City celebrities picking the lucky numbers.
4. Why not give the fans proper involvement in a way that does not threaten the board. For example, why not use the points of blue committee or set up a small group of fans who could help drive the content and design of the club website? So it stays true to City tradition but also is high tech, looks good etc. A group could work directly with whichever people run the website.
5. Ditto above to help inform merchandising and marketing. Ditto to help with programme design. Ditto with City Square- consult more with the fans
6. What is the strategy behind having so many players out on loan? How would Khaldoon evaluate that strategy?
7. Related to most of the above, does the glocal strategy need revisiting because there is concern the local City fans are not valued enough.
EXTERNAL.
8. The media campaign is appallingly and consciously biased against City with our enemies setting much of the agenda. There is obviously a business response to this and I can understand cultural nuances in UAE but has the Board ever considered the well being of City fans who are subjected to this shite (not sure Khaldoon would quite get what shite means.....well unless he's seen Ben Thatcher and Danny Mills play). I find all the negativity against us spoils my enjoyment at times. I want us to be seen for what we are as a club, a team and fans. Surely the Board can at least ensure the grossest factual errors are stopped. If some of the greatest footballing minds we have in this country, Merson, Jordan, Keown, Yorke, Cole, Thompson etc think KDB is not at the level of Fred well that's an opinion but City are not state owned and that needs to be publicly shown and proven.
9. What is the club doing to try to protect players from burn out through too many games? What representations are being made?
10. Will the club be at the forefront of lesson learning on paedophilia within the game? Paying compensation is a good and right gesture but can we proactively seek to support those smaller clubs with not so much resource to address the problem. I think that would be a good way of showing respect to all victims.
11. Finally, what does he see the future looking like for the game in 10 years time by which time ADUG would have been around for 25 years.

Sheikh Mansour is an incredibly busy man, but still watches all our games wherever, and whenever he can on TV?

And many City fans still recall how animated he was that first night he visited the Etihad in our victory over Liverpool?

Would Sheikh Mansour consider attending a game next season, possibly with his immediate family?

City fans would like to show their appreciation and see him share in their enjoyment of what he has helped to build.

In the current climate of some owners seemingly disenfranchised from its supporters, he should embrace what would be a joyous return.

Can we have some one-off match tickets at a sensible price? That is not in excess of £50. Not all of us are up to having a season ticket and the high price for one-off games is a deterrent to attendance.

Can you have a word with Mayor Andy Burnham about significantly improving the public transport options for access to the ground? This is particularly important for night matches. Getting back to the outer suburbs by bus at night is horrendous. Services are shocking, and delay in getting away from the Etihad can mean an hour's wait for a connection or maybe a long walk. Again, this is a deterrent to attendance.

I have for you a once in a lifetime (well, season) opportunity.

City Matters have been invited to put questions forward that fans would like answered in the Chairman's ever-popular end of season review. I may well regret asking this but we're potentially looking at up to a dozen questions so anything you might want to ask will be considered and the best ones put forward.

Ask away...
Ask him if he will 100% rule out ever joining a breakaway super league again. And ask him if the fans will be consulted in the future if they have any more bright ideas that could have serious consequence's for the club.

We’ve clearly taken a “kill them with kindness” approach to the media since the takeover. These “journalists” and reporters continually take swipes at us, including the relentless and often incorrect transfer fee sums spouted on tv commentary. I understand that some of this is for click bait and to appease fans of other clubs, but at what point do the club say enough is enough? We call avoid media outlets to an extent, but I’m not sure we should have to.

In terms of expansion, have the club looked at building a single tier? Or a proper home end in the north stand. We as a club lack a proper home end and are one of the only clubs without one.

You aren’t going to ask this, but id also say Please remember our local fan base. Don’t price our fans out of going. It’s crucial to our club that we get local fans in the ground .
