I can answer that one - they left Oldham for Everton and Royle was signing on when he came to us, I think Willie was at Norwich or Ipswich

Interesting career move. Good luck to him - I first City team I watched was Tony Book's side in 1975/6 and WD was a top player then. His son is now Head of Therapy Services at Everton, and there's a little bit about Willie in this Liverpool Echo piece:
