Queues

Does anyone know what the scanners are supposed to detect because I’ve had metal keys, a metal camera, money, etc in my pockets in a thin jacket and not once has a scanner every beeped when I’ve been scanned.

i hope you're not being sarcastic

cos it is a shame for a lot.
I'm not at all, it really is a shame, for anyone who supports the club to find themselves stuck outside in a queue after paying good money and looking forward to the game and then missing out, esp if they are then deciding that is it.

The question is why.
What was wrong with the system last season and the previous seasons?
Its certainly not my choice but I have an iPhone and I know what I'm doing with mobile ticketing. My complaint is that the club haven't got a fit for purpose system to have introduced it in the first place. There appears to be a culture at the club whereby people like Wilson tell those above them in the pecking order what they want to hear. Like mobile ticketing was a success for the Everton game last season. I attended that one and it was a fiasco.

Using shite, almost 20 year old scanners is a recipe for disaster so what are the club doing about it?

It would be better to install walk through metal detectors.

I’m convinced the reason they haven’t and they have the wizards waving their wands is so it slows down the que at the scanners.

If anything makes me pack it in it will not be the scanners, the referees, VAR, the players. It will be that God’s awful public transport system Metrolink.
I'm 56
i walk every where
i cannot drive nor want to
i work in the NHS
i go and come back on the tram
its rammed coming back and dangerous so i wait for it to calm down
never really had a problem with it to be honest

Ah yes I remember that, “following the success of the pilot v Everton”….
Arrived at the ground 90 minutes before kick off, got in the seat just as the ref was tossing his coin

If the club doing anything, which I very much doubt, they will never tell the fans, not even via the City Matters Reps, as the club tells them to keep everything confidential that’s discussed in the meetings, until the minimum minutes come out a month later.

I agree mate..I usually use the tram to and from Ashton on matchdays and it's usually crap..but today I had to get the bus from Haughton Green to the ground via Ashton..going was ok but getting back was a fucking nightmare.
Left the ground at full time waited at bus stop and the first 216 to Ashton arrived at ten past six..arrived home at quarter past seven.
The transport to and from the ground is a joke..last time I catch the bus there.
The match going fans are treated appallingly by the knobs who run the buses and trams.
There were a fair few elderly people waiting for the bus who eventually caught taxis.
I can see plenty of fans binning off night games unless the situation improves.

I got to M1 (entrance for SS3) just before 2.35 and got in my seat just after KO. The queue as I was at the turnstile was at least as long as when I arrived and people were still coming in 25 minutes after KO.

The problem seemed to be with the scanners as when I held my phone close to it nothing happened. I had to get to the QR code and then put my phone in the slot. Everyone appeared to be struggling to scan their phones and many didn't appear to know what to do if it didn't work.

Seemingly there will be new turnstiles installed in SS but it appears to be a state secret and also new scanners are being installed at every turnstile allegedly. My question is when? I stand by my comment about Danny Wilson as he is head honcho for operations and it is a disgrace.

Unfortunately, Danny Wilson seems to have become 'just another bullshitter' who doesn't actually know what's going on any more. The club should be doing more for fans who aren't fortunate enough to be able to afford hospitality etc.

funny that
cos i walked passed a 216 about 5.15 to 5.30 at asda, they're not allowed to stop outside the ground officially, but you'll know that no doubt
i use the tram both ways from ashton these days,i let it calm down by staying to the end and walking up to cemetry gates ,past the grove pub

One of those "youtubers" should forsake the start of the game and actually film what is going on outside the ground 15 - 20 mins after the game has started and interview fans affected by it..... then stick it on YouTube and inform the club / MEN / Radio Manchester of the issues "customers" are facing in buying a "product"

I was talking to a few blues who usually catch the bus there.
Last time I caught the bus from the ground was the Wycombe game and I caught it at the same place as where I waited today..funny that

Witnessed major issues with queues at the North Stand ticket office today, 80 minutes before kick off only 4 out of the 10 available windows were open.

Supporters, some in wheelchairs, left to wait unnecessarily for over an hour to have issues resolved with their mobile season cards.

Is it too much to ask, that supporter Services ensure that all 10 windows in the North Stand ticket office are staffed and open prior to the game on a match day?

A complete shambles!

I can't like your post as it is an utter disgrace.

Again I stand by my post at HT today. Danny Wilson and the club heirachy should be ashamed of the shambolic state of the operations side of the club.
