I heard a interview with Tarrant and he said they never showed all the evidence that the prosecution put forward.
It was like they wanted the major to look like he was innocent.

Really enjoyed that, Chris Tarrant played by an absolutely superb actor, close you eyes and you'd have thought it was him.

As for the verdict, hard to tell, if the TV version of events is right, they look to have been very harshly judged.
If not, and there was more to the 'scheme', why was this not only not shown, but not even alluded to? For example, why was the coughing man involved? He didn't seem to gain anything, not like they were going to split it with him?
