The merit of a quiz is very often in inverse ratioto the monetary value of the prize.

That's a regular occurrence. Many just go on to promote themselvesWhat an abomination that Celebrity Mastermind is.
There was a "celeb" lastb night scored two points on his special subject and two more on general knowledge. He knew virtually nothing.
It just demeans the proper Mastermind and brings it into disrepute.
I also wonder if they don't want to appear to "swotty" and "square" by demonstrating a bit of knowledge. Doesn't fit in with their "edgy" or "too cool for school" public persona. That's a regular occurrence. Many just go on to promote themselves
I think too many have crossed a line which basically shows they are jus thick. 10-11 points is respectable across the 2 rounds but single figures.....I also wonder if they don't want to appear to "swotty" and "square" by demonstrating a bit of knowledge. Doesn't fit in with their "edgy" or "too cool for school" public persona.
Adding the word "celebrity" to any programme demeans that programme. The obvious exception being Deal or No Deal as it's utter shite anyway. What an abomination that Celebrity Mastermind is.

Even though it’s a bit twee at times I think House of Games is a good quiz and works well with the celebrities that go on there, some get very competitive. It’s a good show because you can be really good at some rounds but be terrible at others.Only Connect

Wankety Wank? What was the German quiz show that was on sky early 90s
They turned cards over but instead of higher or lower you had to guess if the picture of the lady would have less clothes or more clothes than the previous picture
Yeah I like it too. Gives me something other than football to talk to my dad about. But I think he only watches it to have a moan about one of the contestants not sharing the prizes if they win a few over the week.Even though it’s a bit twee at times I think House of Games is a good quiz and works well with the celebrities that go on there, some get very competitive. Amol Rajan was on it a bit back and was very poor at it. I never look at him the same any longer on UC when he tries his Paxman look of distain at a contestant getting an obvious answer wrong like “No … (idiot) … Brahms, of course”.Yeah I like it too.
