Race for fourth

I think I'm correct in saying we're the only side with that fourth place in our own hands. Everybody else is relying on us to fuck up somewhere (the Emirates or against Norwich being the likely candidates).
No, you are not correct in saying that. Spurs are two points ahead and with a vastly superior goal difference so fourth place is currently in their hands.

i personally dont think there is much between either of or runs in, im happy to be playing both arsenal & chelsea at home, your happy to be playing man utd, villa & spurs at home, i think you have a harder game this weekend in burnley than we have in sunderland only because its burnleys last chance at staying up. we both have 1 extremely difficult away game each, which both are favourites to lose in, both could play sides last game off the season either relegated or needing a result to stay up. im glad we dont have to play either villa or liverpool as they are real 6 pointers. if it comes down to may the 5th & we needing a win at your place id accept that as i know we would just go for it & have a good chance at beating you. this weekend will make or break spurs in my opinion,a spurs win & a liverpool draw or lose will make it very hard for liverpool to break top 4 & i can see villa not winning at bolton & ending any hope they had this weekend,

burnley are utter shite and have nothing left to offer. i can see us pipping them about 2-0 and to be honest my bets for the weekend is 2 draws. Liverpool and Spurs. very tough places to go. Do you think you will beat us at our place?

i personally wouldnt like to go to your place only 2 points ahead of you, this might sound stupid but i wouldnt mind being level or maybe 1 point behind, because ive followed tottenham all my life & when things are in our hands thats when we mess up, i wouldnt like going to city just needing a draw to stay ahead,i think our best chance of beating you is to attack you from the 1st minute & needing a win

the problem is if you attack from the off we could just soak it all up and then hit you on the counter attack. i hope to god dawson and bassong are playing because they are poor. johnson, bellamy and tevez all bursting forward at some serious speed will make you fear of being caught on the counter and therefore you wont just attack from the off

good fair article. to be honest it isnt impossible for villa and pool to catch us but if they do that it will mean we have fucked up badly therefore spurs will get 4th. so probably is between us n spurs as we are the only ones who can catch them. we need to use our "easy" games to our advantage. win at burnley and against birmingham and we are giving our selves a really good chance going in to some tough games. cant see us getting anything away at arsenal but maybe a draw at home to united. then its all in our own hands going in to games against villa and spurs at HOME. then west ham away which sounds tough but honestly we should be shitting on them especially if we need the win. its gonna be close thats for sure.

Yes; you are correct. It is in their own hands to a degree. But if we beat Spurs and then match their points total in the remaining games, we'll finish one point ahead of them. As it happens, I would go along with the view that the scousers will be the main challengers to us, due to their easier run-in.

Actually it is both our hands
if we win all our games we will be fourth
if tottenham were to win all their games they would be fourth (they could win them all and afford a draw against us to come fourth)
so technically it is both teams hands at the moment

dawson & bassong have surprised me to a certain extent, never been a big fan off dawson but he is growing on me by the day, a year ago the thought of neither king or woodgate in the middle would have given me nightmares, people mock our defense but in gomes & a back 4 that hasnt changed much & with now a left back to die for in gareth bale,we are doing ok,its the centre of midfield that worrys me,we have even coped without our best 2 players for large parts of the season in 1st modric & lennon, if you had said lennon would be out for the best part of 4 months the way he was playing i would have said we would have absolutely no chance of 4th,but we have hung on in there & had some truly shocking results & always bounced back, im very optimistic about next season 2

Yes its a little like going away from home over a 2 legged game 2-1 up, it's almost better to be level.

And here's another take:

Just my predictions, i think they were fair, obviously they won't be exact. But this comfirms to me how difficult it will be for liverpool to finish 4th. Even if they beat Brum in my predictions they only become level on points with us and Spurs.

Well if you check the link, I've predicted the exact same finish. Right down to the same results as yourself.

i dont even bother with a points prediction, right now im just concerned at getting any sort off win against sunderland,i dont care if it goes off defoes backside in the last minute as long as we win,we must win this game at all costs,i dont care what fixtures come after, only if we win saturday will i truly believe spurs might actually finish 4th
