You've misread me. I meant innocent people who witnessed this alleged incident. Nobody else saw it?

For what it's worth, teenage West Ham gobshites were anti semitic chanting on the train up to Manchester last season. Several of my branch are Jewish and just ignored them. One of our guys got his phone out to send a text message and received "are you gonna start facking filming us now, mate?" to which the rest guffawed with laughter. They appeared to leave at Manchester unchallenged and melted in to the crowds at the station.

Get the cctv footage released on social media now and they'll have it wrapped up by noon.
It seems a bit daft that they haven't already.

Yep, I travel up to Glasgow regularly on the Virgin train and my peaceful browsing of porn is often interrupted by an announcement informing me that CCTV are monitoring every carriage for our own safety.
If it's anything like their wifi though I wouldn't hold out much hope of it working.

The difference between the Chelsea incident in Paris, the West Ham fans singing anti sematic chants on the trains and even the recent non football related a man racially abusing a London black cab driver and this incident is one simple thing. All were recorded on video.

Now that certainly doesn't mean that the incident didn't happen. But before everybody gets carried away it also means that as there is no video or as it seems any other witnesses that we know of. There is a possibility that the incident has been extremely exaggerated by a family that likes to go to the paper with any problem they have.

Manchester City fans guilty until proven innocent.

They're almost Scouse in their victim mentality should this be the case. Lots of claims of racism are valid and lots aren't.
 
Admitting that you have a few racist fans among your support isn't the same as admitting to having a culture of racism within the club (which i'm certain we don't). Any sensible person should understand that a handful of people acting out of line like that shouldn't define a club or its entire fan base. It's how the rest of the fans and the club itself responds to incidents like this what really counts. Denying it, trying to discredit the victims, trying to ignore the damage incidents like this cause, these are the things that are most damaging.

After the Luis Suarez/Patrice Evra incident, I didn't instantly think Liverpool FC was a despicable football club off the actions of one guy. When they sent their entire squad out to warm up wearing Luis Suarez tshirts the next match I did though. If it is proven to be true (and i know it's still an "if" at this stage), let us just accept that it's at least it's shone a light on the matter and hopefully we'll handle it a lot better than clubs like Liverpool and Chelsea have.

Could not agree more and the closer we are to eradicating all forms of racism the better. Unfortunately that is not going to happen.

The problem also can be peoples interpretation of racism and generations not understanding what is deemed as racist. It has been for awhile the term mixed race which in another generation was called half cast. Half cast is now classed as a racist word when it was commonly mentioned in the same sentence as black in the 80s and 90s.

So with a comment of

"They were very abusive. When he was in the toilet there was a group of men who were kicking the door down and calling him offensive names"

I would have preferred for the MEN to enlighten us all on what the offensive names were. Lets get this right grown man shouldn't be picking on any young boy but something just isn't right with this story and it falls more into interpretation than fact.
 
Doesn't add up this. Of course we'll all see what evidence comes out, if any, but I would be amazed, gutted, perplexed and disgusted if the story as reported actually happened.
 
I do think the story may well have been exagerated for the paper but it is still no excuse, why are grown men picking on a kid? Because he is a different colour to his parents? Is it really beyond their knuckl-dragging minds that he is adopted?

Unfortunately there is pond life that see something like this as "different" or "odd" to them and therefore OK to take the p*ss. I've seen it happen to gay people and people with learning difficulties, it's not just a race thing, just morons thinking it is funny to tell someone they are different.

Unfortunately I do imagine they've made this kid feel awful, even if the story is exagerated from the truth, I can't see them making the whole thing up. (trying to bang down a door though seems fanciful)
 
If there's been an incident on a train I've been on then either police deal with it on board or are waiting at the next station where the train is being held. Someone broke the door before Norwich at home once and was promptly arrested at Crewe for criminal damage etc. This is a strange story.
 
Yea, I'm awaiting some kind of footage with evidence of which individuals have been racist.
It's irrelevant who they support - just gutterpress click baiting.
Absolute vermin gutterpress.... "I know, let's indefinitely link this group of drunktards with MCFC, this will add 200,000 extra hits to the story Mr. Editor"
They are first and foremost human beings.
If they are guilty then secondly they are racist human beings.

A guy goes and kills loads of people in a college shootout in America, aand might specifically target black students.... you don't fucking see the media over there finding out what team the gun man supports.

No ones filmed it so its not true until I see cctv.
 
I love reading articles like this - such a well articulated, insightful piece, especially considering there are no witnesses/CCTV or any factual material to mention.

Another take on this article could have been 'football supporters, who were bursting for a wee knocked on a public toilet door' - terrifying.

Cuts both ways though, how some of the posters on here can vilify the alleged victims based on an MEN article a without knowing any of the facts is beyond me.
