Racist podcast rant - Arsenal fan & 'Comedian' Alan Davies not happy with us

Yes. It's his podcast, he hosts it every week.
Just listened to it again, and when he’s not in full-on rant, certain words do sound like him!

Sad, because I always liked QI and thought his schtick in there was quite amusing.

This, though, is a full-on “-ist” rant, using phrases I’m sure he will live to regret.

One of the most despicable phrases, which hasn’t been hit on as much as others that pop out at you, is the notion of “our League”

Arsenal fans literally believe they’re football royalty in England because a French man assembled a team full of foreign players, and made a name for their club, and one of their executives, David Dein, “ran” English football for awhile before hopping upstairs into world football.

So, let me get this entirely clear in my mind in case I'm missing something:

1) Arsenal have a good first half and go in 1-0 up at half time but point to Ederson's tackle on Odegaard and scream penalty when the game was still at 0-0. VAR agreed it's not a clear and obvious error after multiple camera angles indicate Ederson won the ball given the direction it travels after. It COULD have been given, but it's hard to tell whether Ederson clips his foot first - no penalty.

2) Bernardo breaks into the area and Xhaka clearly sticks out his left leg across Bernardo which in itself, could be a given as a penalty. Ref says no. Replays then show he ALSO has a hold of his shirt and pulls him down.VAR see this as a clear error, ref looks again - agrees... penalty awarded.

3) Gabriel is caught on camera wrecking the penalty spot in the hope Mahrez misses on the back of it. Referee correctly books him for vandalism of his teams own pitch. Another Arsenal player ESCAPES a booking when he does the same thing.

4) The ref is then point blank accused of blocking a running lane for Martinelli who blazes the ball over the bar when presented with an open goal. People are reaching here, tin foil hat stuff this...

5) Gabriel gets done on the half way line by Jesus and finds himself out of position so makes no attempt to play the ball and hauls him down which is a 100% yellow card offence. Apparently this is an injustice?

We don't even have to touch on the hilarity of Rodri at the end and the conduct of their fans in the corner.

But now we get these kind of rants from C-list comedians venting their spleen about the culture of Cities owners with oil and desert references? WOW, just wow.

They are all on the verge of picking up their ball and not playing - drink it in....
While Gabriel did as you say in #3, that’s not what it looks like he was booked for, which looks like was running 30 yards to shout at the ref.

The “injustice” is all manufactured nonsense advanced by their assistant manager and goalkeeper in their post game interviews, and lazy (anti-City) pundits in the media.

BBC now saying it was for scuffing up the penalty spot. Who knows? I personally thought it was for gobbing off.

This charge should really be followed up by another of whatever governs objects thrown onto the pitch by fans. It wasnt 1 or 2 scrunched up pieces of paper it was hundreds of items including water bottles etc. They clearly think this is acceptable at Arsenal following bananagate etc.

At one time refs were getting stick for not being fit enough to keep up with play, now they are getting hammered for being in front of it. They can't win.

Plus he said that the guy called him names but…”….if it wasn’t him it was his mate”!!
So he attacked someone who could have been totally innocent and anyway he is allegedly witty so could he not have countered any alleged name calling with a quick quip in return rather than assaulting him?
There used to be a legal concept of joint enterprise. If a gang attack somebody and the victim is stabbed by one, all are equally guilty.
I am not sure it still applies.

No action on the missile throwing?
And don't forget no yellow (and apparently no retrospective action) for Saka going into crowd after scoring? This lack of yellow (one rule for them, one rule for Sterling... and twice as worse now with covid), is doubly important, as he got a yellow in the 63rd minute, so they should be down to 9 men for 30 minutes.
