Radio memories

I recorded a BBC programme "More than a Game" off the radio in 1968, a documentary about United v City at the Swamp in the Championship season. Didn't get it all, as I had to turn over the 3 inch tape halfway through. The North West sound archive copied it but that archive has been dispersed and it may now be at Central Ref.

But try this, from a marvellous BBC World Service collection of 8/9 minute recollections of historic events. Micah on the last day of the 2012 season. Perhaps more than video, because on radio "the scenery is better", this is goosebumps stuff:

I think I remember that 1968 one. Wasn’t there a clip of Ken Mulhearn saying as long as he kept a clean sheet we’d be fine? And then conceded after a minute or two? And Colin the King being typically modest about scoring the third and thinking it had been disallowed?

Radio memories… I remember driving home from MR on the night cantona kicked the CP fan. Pat Crerand ( on Piccadilly radio) said he hadn’t seen the incident as he was at the other end of the ground.
By next morning he was sat in the family stand and expected something to happen when cantona was sent off.
I didn’t like him before and liked him less after this pack of lies. How James H tolerated him is beyond me.
Horrible twat.
