Our Manager seems to be favouring players from Italy.

Would be understandable if true after all he is most familiar with the Italian league.

However, it so far isn't true at all. I believe that so far Mancini has signed 3 players from the English and Spanish leagues and 2 from Italy and Germany, which considering the relative strengths of the leagues seems reasonable.

decent back up for de-jong / yaya not that I think we need to strengthen that area...

Central midfield is our weakest position in terms of strength. We almost got caught out last year when the games started piling up, Yaya and Barry were tired and Nige picked up his injury. Yaya will be at the ACN for a month. We must strengthen this position more than any other IMO.

Silva, Yaya, NDJ, Barry, Milner. Thats enough for me, i'd rather go for a LW & RW as we dont have cover in these areas. Zaba has also always done a decent job in CM when called upon.

Did you watch us last year? Silva is the first-choice winger. Milner, Barry, De Jong and Yaya = four players for three positions, over the course of 50+ games. Did you see how tired they were in Feb/March? Did you notice that Vieira played 25 games?

For the wings, we've got Silva, Johnson, Milner, Balotelli and appear to be after another one. We'll be sweet.

Milner can play in the middle but I agree we need another central midfielder.

Diarra from Madrid anyone? Maybe too similar to de Jong but I thought he might be able to play in front of Nige or rotate? I'm hopeful that a swap deal with the fascists including a couple of players might be on the cards for herman

SIlva isn't a central midfielder.

So we have Yaya, DJ, Barry and Milner. And 3 of them play. That gives you one backup. Sorry, but we need 6 - two per position

I've had a cheeky bet on Belgium to win the next Euro's at 125/1, their team is bursting with talent but I must confess I'd never even heard of this fella though!

Diarra's a good shout. They'll also be looking to get rid of Gago, but I wouldn't take the gamble. Alonso would be perfect, but I can't see them selling.

Other good options are Fellaini (wants out), Montolivo (probably too lightweight), Meireles (Liverpool midfield looking super-crowded at the minute), M'Vila, Matuidi...

I also reckon Nasri could play the Yaya role, as could Hamsik. It'd make us a fair bit more attacking too.

We could do a lot worse than Moussa Sissoko. I thought we were after him a while back.

If fellaini didn't have injury worries I'd happily take him. I rate Meireles but think we've got to be looking at better players than him. Haven't seen enough of the rest of them but the more I think about it the more certain I become that we'll be bringing a centre mid in, unless we plan on using a youngster? Doubt it...
