Rafa, would you have him at City?

He's never had a ton of money. His net spend works out as £13M a year. Yet with that he's
delivered two Champions League finals. He never wanted Robbie Keane, and importantly didn't lose any money on him when selling him back to Spurs. Babel has been a disappointment, but given his Ajax form and hype at the time the
money they paid for him wasn't out of line with what his value was.

Johnson is worth every penny. Liverpools game is based on dominating possession - Johnson gives them attacking credibility on the right. He's easily the best attacking right back in the league.
Didn't they pay £20m for Keane and sell him back for £12m?

It was a complex deal, as Liverpool still owed Spurs money. I think the long and short of it was that the 6 months Keane was at Liverpool cost them £4m in net terms. Given the original deal was for £20m on a 4 year deal, that equates to £5m a season. So Liverpool "lost" money on him but it was relative peanuts.

6 years at Liverpool has brought him:

Champs League 04/05
FA Cup 05/06
UEFA Super Cup 05
Community Shield 06

However, according to 'Liverpool Web' in that time he has brought in 101 players (including trainees) and sold on 84 players (again including trainees that were released).

Total Buys £209,425,000

Total Sales £147,130,000

So on average (stress again including trainees) he picks up 17 players per year (not season!) and slings out 14.

Does that tell us anything at all about him? Personally, Rafa 04-06, I'd have. Rafa 07-present wouldn't touch with a barge pole. Seems to have wilted under the pressure and the rants (FACT!) are nothing short of embarrassing.

I think the fella's gonna do a KK and have a breakdown.

I wouldnt like to see Benitez at City, We should stick with Bobby Manc and give him time, Rafa has made some top signings Torres £20m, Alonso £10m, Reina £6m.....But he has also brought in a load of sh*t players!
