Rafael Leao

Over an electric winger? Love Felix, but an electric winger like Leao would be of greater utility, I believe.

But I get what you mean by him being a perfect fit.
True, but when? Leao for me is still a player in development, so it would take him a year to get up to speed under Guardiola; Felix would walk into the team from the get go.

Doubt either deal will happen this summer.

He doesn't seem suitable to me. We need very specifically someone on the right wing and he plays on the left.

Prob. see Alvarez used there from the off most likely.

RW - Mahrez/Alvarez/Palmer

LW - Foden/Grealish

and the question marks over Sterling/Jesus. who can play both, depending who leaves/stays and if one of the LW's is used as an 8 more often. I could see a LW in, no problem.

Felix would walk into the team? Seriously? He walked alright when we played Atletic.

I mean come on, he’s a very good player at the wrong club with the wrong manager. But he will have as much problems getting settled as any other quality player. He at least needs a few months to man up to the physicality of the PL. He’s hardly a Bernardo and even he needed a full season.

As you say, he's at the wrong club with the wrong manager. I'd rate him at better than very good and while I agree that the physicality would be novel, there's a reason he went for that fee. Players that can play between the lines effectively are extremely rare, and signing him would be an incredible achievement. Guess we'll just have to disagree. :-)

i agree Leao still feels like a player in development and Ideally we would want him to spend one more year developing then move to us next summer however it maybe this a case of this year or never. He also has pace, power and stats last season were very respectable.

I think this deal also may dependent on Sterling. If we lose sterling we’d lack that powerful electric pace to break the line, which playing with a ford again (thank god) maybe deemed essential.

Leao has 2 years left on his contract, we maybe simply signalling to him not to extend his contrac5 as we’ll be back next year (when he’s in the last yea4 of his contract) however if other clubs are circling and we’ve identified him as a long term target we maybe forced to move.

Obviously players need to move on for Leao to come but equally this feels like a deal with a lot of moving parts, posssible but unlikely at this point…

I don’t think we would be interested if Jorge Mendes wasn’t his Agent. What is it with City and Mendes, proper lick his arse and pay him a load of money.

Leao is good but not better than Sterling or Jesus, yet Leao will cost us more than what we would get for either of them. Plus add in the huge agent fee we would have to pay Mendes for seeing us off.

I would love to sign Leao, but the problem is that Mendes is playing in his game, Milan is treating him more than a God, and we need more of a right-winger than a left-winger. He will renew, unfortunately.
