We all remember them getting tonked at Southampton and using the excuse that they couldn't see each other in the grey shirts they were wearing.

Just heard Crerand on the radio say that they shouldn't have played the game at Newcastle as it was too windy! Any other good rag excuses you've heard?

After the 1-6 didnt Fergie accuse them of trying to get sommat from the game instead of defending and settling for a defeat.

Didn't he do that when they played Blackburn? It's the same pitch for both sides, plus the fact that the vermin have better players than Blackburn and should be able to adapt to conditions better than their opponents.

I remember Steve 'Elephant Man' Bruce missing a penalty at Bramhall Lane, pretty sure it was in the cup.
The rags and rag loving media were creaming themselves saying the penalty should have been taken again as the ball wasn't on the spot when it was taken.

And the reason it wasn't on the spot?? Because Bruce placed the ball slightly just in front of the spot to gain an unfair advantage and it backfired....
Had the ball gone in the back of the net, would they have screamed for a retake then?

Crerand used that one as well when Gary Richardson accused them of giving up.

"Oh no we didn't give up. In fact we went for it even more" (or words to that effect). Fuck off. Everyone could see they'd given up.

Not to mention that it was United's OWN pitch !!
