I agree. It's a bit sad.

However, I would also add that every club in England has a large percentage of fans who like to believe that the media has it in for them. Only yesterday I had the dubious pleasure of listening to Talksport for most of the afternoon. During a few short hours there were fans from Arsenal, Chelsea and Leeds phoning up to complain that the station has a vendetta aginst their clubs.

It's pathetic, but we are not alone in it.

A large section of society loves to convince themselves that they are persecuted and hard done by at every possible opportunity. Football is no different.

Considering we've won fuck all in decades and are in the shit version of the Europe competition we doing pretty good.

Don't worry.

Over the next 2/3 seasons we will rocket up that table. Why?

New kit deal.
New sponsers.
(both deals are going to be much more lucrative than the current ones)
Bigger crowds and bigger match day revenues.
(team performances and admission prices being dropped should generate bigger crowds, which in turn will generate more revenue)
Qualification into the CPL and longer cup runs will also generate more revenue.
I can see us climbing into the top 10 in a couple of seasons.
PS. I forgot to mention a couple of super star players to increase match day attendences as well.

The fact that we're in the top 20 with 33 years of failiure, poor league positions and poor cup runs, speaks volumes for our potential. Why do you think we were bought by ADUG.(smiles)

Errrrm, no. Unless you mean we'd have brought in a shitload of revenue from merchandising. Although it would have been nowhere near enough to offset the initial £100m outlay so quickly.

Revenue is money in, whether is be Gate receipts, Sponsorship or merchandise etc.

No. Turnover/revenue is the money coming into the club from things like TV, merchandise, sponsorship and ticket sales. I'm not sure where they got our figure for 2007/8 from as we haven't published those accounts yet as far as I'm aware, unless it was the published figure for the previous year.

One thing for sure, Arsenal will be heading down that table before too long. Let's see Wenger live within his income then.
