Raheem Sterling came to us in an absolute firestorm. He rejected Liverpool and the Dippers hated it. Lesser people would have wilted but he stayed strong and transferred to us. He’s given us some of the best years of his career. I hope he stays, but if he goes he owes us nothing and goes with my best wishes and gratitude. People seem to forget what the press were like when he was in the process of leaving Liverpool to come to us. The bloke must have balls of steel.

Can certainly see him doing a lot better.

Maybe he'll see how he does next season and if it goes well he'll sign a new contract.
This i believe is his plan. See if he fits as an important clog, and if not, transfer our.

I'd do the same if in his shoes, so can't fault him.

Hence why he has a strange gait when running. Hope he stays

Sterling leaving Liverpool hurt them badly, the media campaign from the club and ex dippers went into overdrive and to a disgusting new low even by dipper standards.

The way he handled himself during that period and his contribution to our success should NEVER be forgotten or underestimated.

He is a hugely frustrating player but for the reason above should be treated with the uttermost gratitude and respect.

It was a fuckin disgrace, they really are one big fuckin weird cult

I think just him staying, seeing how he fits into the new system etc, game time and so on, is his plan. See that, use the WC as show room for his levels and get a massvie sign-on bonus from a new club or extend here. He's got more to lose if he move 5 months ahead of the tournament imo

To be fair to Raheem he's made no secret of wanting to try his hand in Spain at some point. Has been a great player for us and at crucial times, has consistently made telling contributions. I suspect his plan is to see out his contract and then move to Real or Barca with plenty left in the tank. If that is the case we should all wish him well. I don't have a clue how the club would think of that plan but I really can't see him extending his contract given his desire to have one last big move. Either way we still get another year during a players peak age.
