Certainly not, and not up with Yaya deBruyne or Fernandinho neither.He has done a lot for our team but will not be put in the same group with Kompany, Silva and Aguero.
He’s around the Džeko and Zaba level. Dangerous player on his day, has great movement and has a great knack of being in the right place at the right time, was a much better player when he had players around him that suited him more, but is limited and has become a lot less effective defensively.

He's not going to Newcastle in a million years. Seeming pretty likely his 'people' have lined up the Barcelona move.
Fair play to him, he's more than justified us buying him, been an absolute star for us at times (the disallowed hat trick goal in the champs league v spurs was probably his zenith)
Now it looks like it's best for both him and the club if there's a parting of the ways. I wish him well. He's got two months before then though and needs to continue to do his bit

his form went off a cliff when Arteta left and has never recovered. be good for all concerned if he left at the end of a season.

Zaba wasn’t a brilliant player, he was a very good defender and fairly good attacker but a truly amazing warrior.You can’t compare sterling with Zaba

I always ask myself in these situations: "If he wasn't already our player, would we want to sign him now?". If the answer is no, the player should be moved on asap.
Do I think that City would sign Raheem Sterling if he was available in the January window? I honestly think we would. Indeed, if it wasn't for their inability to match his wages, I would expect all the top European clubs to be in for him. He's got plenty to offer and, on form, I'd rather see him playing for City than against us.
If he goes to Barcelona, I suspect it would be an initial 6 month loan deal, with him returning to City when Barcelona can't afford to buy him or afford his wages. At which point, I return to my first paragraph and ask the questions again.
