He does, but I fear that will change unless he ups his game big time.He gets that online from idiots but match-going fans support him and always have

Change our play to accommodate a struggling want away, really? Is there an argument that Pep needs to play him in a role that would be "easier" for him to shine in?
A stint on the right wing with instructions to get to the byline and cross and also try to get on the end of balls in from the left might be just what he needs.
As an inverted winger on the left or as a false 9 he seems not to be able to play his instinctive game, holds on to the ball too long and then loses it.
Combining this with Jesus playing as a centre forward would be interesting to watch.
Yes because an in-form Sterling solves some of the problems that we have such as scoring in bigger games. It is great that we have so many players able to score but the lack of a 20+ goalscorer could be the difference between winning trophies or finishing in the pack.Change our play to accommodate a struggling want away, really?
I think when we tried to buy Kane we would have been thinking it would help get the best from Sterling. The fact we didn't means it will be next summer before we play with a central striker and get the best from Sterling. If I was him I'd sign a new deal and bide my time. Don't think he will though and by the time we play with a striker Sterling will be gone.Is there an argument that Pep needs to play him in a role that would be "easier" for him to shine in?

Raheem has scored prolifically in the past although I'll acknowledge he has missed critical chances (Lyon, United etc.). Having an in form Sterling would be transformative so trying to help him get back to that state is worthwhile.
I agree mateThe point I was making, I would let him leave for free now if someone took on his contract.
We have had amazing value out of him.
Not aged well in the last 24 hours ;)The question is who do you drop for him?
Mahrez he’s been getting goals and assists
Grealish you could but then you lose Jacks creativity and ability to slow down play
Foden no chance our best attacking threat this season
Jesus? Has had a very good season so far on the wing with goals and assists also his work rate is phenomenal. You could move him to striker but he plays much better on the wing
I don’t see how Sterling gets into that front three when every player in his position right now is better even Palmer is knocking on the door.
Do you drop one of your in form wingers for a player who has been struggling constantly in this city side I know there will be reply’s saying he’s played well these few games but a winger is judged on goals and assists his last goal was in August,he assisted Palmer but hasn’t scored in a good while.
Sterling is great player, but right now he’s a shadow of the form he showed couple seasons back. It’s a massive gamble especially when you are going for the league to hope Sterling gets that amazing form back especially when the league is tough this season.
Put him up for sale for 100m and he sits here and runs his contract down. We do 'well' by our players when we sell them. This forum was up in arms when we let the likes of Dzeko and Tevez go for peanuts but it doesn't make any difference to us, we needed them to go.If they aren't. They should. When we want Grealish. We have to pay 100m. When Pep next summer wants to replace Ferna with Rice or Bellingham. We have to pay 100m.
While we continue to sell our players for a fraction of those fees. How sustainable is that?

I honestly think he deserves another chance, a spell on the right side of our attackIs there an argument that Pep needs to play him in a role that would be "easier" for him to shine in?

Sterling brings something different than all theses names as awesome as they are and that thing that an in form Sterling brings is something our attack has been crying for this season and to an extent last season - a direct threat in attack. The question is who do you drop for him?

I know he has let us down so many times of late but I’d argue that no one has really really held down the shirt. Jesus - great work rate and all that but he has not really replicated his first two games of this season. Mahrez for all his goals and assist is not so much of a threat to the opposition, so long as we don’t have a target man to hold one of his left footed lobed balls. I’d argue that Sterling needs to be given o e last chance on the right side of our attack.
I wouldn’t argue against your points because they are all correctMillion dollar question though is has Pep got the same confidence ?
Pretty sure Sterling will still be included in squads, but his end product is against him and not sure if he ( Sterling ) is just biding his time to get out of the club or just in an abysmal and lengthy loss of form and confidence.
He can't buy a goal and things aren't happening for him generally . Not sure that playing on the right side is going to sort his issues.
