Alvarez is key in this equation. If he hits the ground running, we've replaced Sterling's productivity (which admittedly was diminishing). If he doesn't, then it could be risky.

Either way, I trust the numbers will be made up and more so.

Looking ar Alvarez quality, I feel completely confident that he will. He seems like an exceptional talent.

Anyone who thinks selling sterling to an PL title rival is a good move has a shock coming their way.

So you think Pep is wrong if Pep thinks they don’t need replacing?

People need to stop acting like others are out of their mind if they disagree with what Pep might think. As much as he gets things spot on, this is a guy who thought that Eric Garcia was going to be Franco Baresi with bells on.

And I'm saying that as someone who doesn't think it would be a travesty if we didn't go out and get a replacement for Raheem this summer.

That being said, Haaland has had an iffy time with injuries and it remains to be seen if this will improve, Grealish has never proven that he can score goals with regularity, there is no guarantee Alvarez will settle and Cole Palmer has played four league games.

I think people are right to have questions and wanting a Sterling replacement is a valid viewpoint, regardless of what you think Pep might think.

It's not as if the club have much of a choice is it? He won't sign a new deal and will leave for free in a years time anyway and have a choice of whoever he wants "including Chelsea".

Plus I wouldn't see Chelsea as a Premier League Rival. Liverpool are a rival. We finished 20+ points ahead of Chelsea last season.

Oh come on. He wasn’t good enough for City anymore. Sure he might score against us but who cares. Sterling can’t close the gap between Chelsea and City in the league.
You seem to be overzealous with your opinions. Let me tell you something. Sterling is a proven talent to us. Alvarez is still just a name for us (yet). Let things settle.

He strengthens their team because he is better than what they have now. Sterling is one of the best attacking players in the PL, his finishing is not great but his chance creation and forward link up play is good. Sterling is a seasoned international with bags of experience. If Chelsea pay 45 million then they have a bargain in my opinion. I would of preferred he went abroad if we needed to sell. Suppose this is financial reality.
