Almost as cringe as the pantomime displays we see at Ibrox every rememberence Sunday. There's various ways of showing respect and drawing as much attention to yourselves as possible is not one of them. 'Look at us! Look how British we are!'. Thankfully most up here see right through it.

As for the other lot, no shock there either I'm afraid.
You a city supporter who hates the UK?

As someone of strong Irish (Catholic) heritage this element of Celtic's support makes me ashamed. So much so that during their sectarian/racist hate fest when they played at the Etihad in the CL, I left the ground just after half time with lots of other decent fans. They made me feel physically sick.
My main issue is that the vast majority of Celtic's support are Scottish-born but they wrap themselves in the Irish flag. My family (from all over Ireland) used to call these sort of people "plastic paddies." The normal response when you challenge these scumbags is: "Rangers are worse than us." I think if you use Rangers fans as your role model you are setting the bar low.
I should add that I love Scotland, lived there for years, and will probably move back. I have many pals who are Celtic/Rangers fans, who also like City. They are decent people who feel the same way about elements of their support that I do.
I have an Irish sir name we hail from Cork a few generations ago just like a lot of folk round are way with Irish heritage, I see my self as British I work with a lad who was born down south, he thinks he's Irish Hates the Queen hates the union Jack hates England FC, thinks he's Irish and loves the IRA and a massive rags fan never goes to games tho , spent his entire life living in the uk.

When we played Celtic away a few years ago, me and my mate were in one of the pubs near the ground ( The Springfield Arms I think it was called ) and we got talking to their fans and mentioned the IRA supporting shit and was told that the Scottish lads don't like it either. They said it was the Irish fans who did all that.
Almost all the IRA stuff comes from their West of Scotland fanbase. They see themselves more Irish than Scottish, but it is a bastardisation of Irishness in that they regard the IRA as the true bastions of that nationality. This has been going on for many decades, long before any of the Green Brigade were even born. I can still remember the IRA graffiti in Glasgow in the late 60's. In the 1970's, many Celtic pubs in the city collected money for them, everybody knew it was going on which eventually culminated in three pubs in the Gorbals and Barras areas being bombed by the then Scottish Loyalists.
if you were to walk into any Celtic pub in Glasgow or Lanarkshire today when Scotland were playing the Republic of Ireland, nobody would be supporting Scotland. Not one.

I see that our moving tribute to Her Majesty is provoking fury up here among the ‘ Freedumb ‘ brigade and the chattering classes.’
Even BBC Scotland were raging when they had to report that we’re not getting fined by UEFA for ignoring their rule on playing the national anthem.

Was the UEFA ditty also played, or just the national anthem? One of the media comments made before the City, Chelsea, and dipper games was that neither anthem would be played.

Not at all. It's not about rememberance any more but just a pathetic popularity contest. The two sets of fans have exploited religion, politics, Ireland, Britain, terrorism and everything which falls into sub categories of the above and continue to do so. Clubs up and down Britain hold a silence and donate to an annual poppy appeal, what Rangers do isn't about rememberance, they go above and beyond for the sake of recognition and recognition only. It's an annual predictable cringe fest.

On the football itself, what happens should they finish 4th in their group? Do they go into the conference league or are they out altogether? It's been a horrible start but in fairness that is a horrific group in terms of qualification hopes. The fact that none of their summer signings started last nights match tells its own story though, and Morelos is in embarrassing shape for a footballer at that level.

Not a chance is it a popularity contest.

And I'm not sure, presume they just go out. Believe the teams that fail in Europa League go into the conference.

I've said it for weeks now, GVB needs to go, even preseason we massively struggled against teams like Blackpool

You can thank city for the lack of a fine.. if we had played the NA there would have been a hefty fine heading our way and Rangers would have had to take the same .. excellent tribute by the way, I can understand why it can’t / won’t be repeated nation wide but an excellent display by the only team representing Britain

Only one is an anthem.

Looks like a lot of Scottish football supporters have no love for the royals
Not just Celtic fans

No surprise, there's a lack of class up here within Scottish football. Hibs are just Celtic lite anyway and other clubs would use it as a weapon to wind up Rangers fans.

This is a country where the minutes silence for the 9/11 terror attacks was disrupted and also some supporters were making aeroplane motions at our American players.

For what's meant to be perceived as a warm and friendly country, our football fans are a hate filled lot.

Scottish football brings out the worst in our country. Those not interested in the sport though are fine.
The disruption yesterday from the diddy mob fans is down to Scottish Nationalism and a racist hatred of the English.
St.Mirren are having a minute’s applause today because they know their own fans will boo and the away support will adopt their normal sectarian slant on anything Royal family.
What a backwater it is up here, especially when you see how impeccably behaved people down South have been.
