The Chair of a club should keep the hell away from any football decisions. Especially if your name is Peter Lawell. He took too many £3m Bonuses for absolutely fuck all. We missed 9 out of 12 attempts to qualify for the CL due to that cheapskate dithering bastard. To put it into perspective, I have never hated anyone at Rangers, and I mean anyone, more than I hate Lawell. He did more to fuck us up than anyone from your mob. He trousered millions while we stagnated in Europe and we got destroyed because, in particular, our defence was shambolic. Surprised about Lawwell. He’s single handedly tied up Scottish football. Huge influence at SFA / SPFL. Refereeing at the top level is certainly changed since Hugh Dallas was forced from office for liking a pretty harmless email. Best referee this countries had in years forced out by Lawwell.
Remember 2008? The tour of Japan? Never was one. Remember Covid? Only major league to stop and not restart! Remember 2008 and SFA president took phone call from Lawwell threatening repercussions if the SFA aided Rangers in anyway!
I believe Lawwell has put Celtic so far ahead of Rangers aided by political allies such as John Reid.
Lawwell has a firm grip on the press. Radio Clyde is Radio Celtic in all but name. Keith Jackson is the chief puppet. Only media he doesn’t have huge influence over is BBC Scotland and that’s run by our Tuechter ‘friends’
I agree with you regarding the money being kept tight but there could be a reason for that. There is a class action case ongoing and if Celtic lose it , as many claim they will, then that money and more will be needed.
Not sure of your age but I remember DD giving a rare interview regarding Celtic and he said ‘as long as we are playing in this league I will make funds available to keep us ahead of our opposition and anything else would be a waste as we cannot compete against Champions League clubs financially as long as we play in Scotland’
I’m pretty sure there is another money man involved at Celtic. I’m sure he’s Irelands second wealthiest man (or was). I’ve no doubt if Celtic were playing in a Euro Super league of some sort purse strings would be loosened. As things stand they don’t think they need to

You really need to get your ver your hopes of the class action case. It’s getting pathetic. Seems you lot think that’s your only chance. Every company has insurance for these types of thing. Will Celtic replace Hart? Watched some podcasts (mostly open goal) and they singled him out as the weak link at the back. CCV for me is the only defender who is irreplaceable.
Middle to front Celtic look strong enough first XI but could maybe strengthen their options

Young Oden looks good and I’m sure we have already identified players to come in, all depends if Rogers agreed, but Ange has been great regarding recruitment, so hopefully what we have identified he likes too.
Just heard Rogers deal is done. He will have got assurances Lawell will be making the ducking tea and won’t be allowed anywhere near anything regarding the team.
As I said before, gutted to lose our big Aussie bastard, but, that’s fitba up here. The best move on, especially our foreign lads. Goes for managers too.
I am now really looking forward to the new season and keeping your mob under the cosh.

Why would you not be keen to go toe to toe with them, why would you start the season dreading coming up against your rivals, not believing you can compete with them, you might as well just not turn up if that's not the case.
It's not like Rodgers is coming to Celtic on a high, he's coming of a sacking in which his Leicester team that really should be top 8 has been relegated, and he played a massive part in that.
I'm not underestimating Rodgers or Celtic, he's a good manager and Celtic are of course treble winners, but no-one should be scared of them, and it should be challenge that should be embraced.

Just hope the rest of the teams put in better results against the old firm and at least make it an interesting season at least.
Who knows if Celtic make a poor start your fanbase will turn on Rodgers if he gets the gig and make life uncomfortable for the board.
I think if I was a Celtic fan I would want somebody else as a manager.No idea who but take a chance on somebody with the same credentials as Ange,build a good side and move on to a bigger league.

The Champions League Campaign could be another horror show from Celtic.
