Rangers thread | 2025/26

I'm making my first ibrox visit of the season next weekend against Alloa. Low key game to start with but I'm sure we'll find a way to make it interesting! Just please god no Queens Park repeat please.

On the bright side the weathers supposed to be excellent…..
 
Astonished they appointed Russell Martin.

He was well out of his depth last season and helped manage Southampton to be one of the worst ever PL.teams of all time in one of the worst seasons of quality the PL has seen.

An unfair starting point for him perhaps but beating sides like Dundee at home should be a non negotiable really regardless who the manager is. I'm staying on the fence with it for now because end of the day it's 5 competitive games in and still the transfer window end to come. Rangers have invested in him so may as well give him a proper run at the job. I can see Celtic dropping daft points as well in fairness because they're no great shakes even though they do seem to at least know how to deal with the rest of the league.

Same shite from that mob every season. Thus one is sweeter as after pumping a second rate europa league also ran, it was delusion at it's finest, its the Rangers Way.

Wisdom, forged through the searing heat of failure. Respect. You know it makes sense. Especially if our board actually bring in quality players we need up front. They have to. But, that has never meant they will. It's every fucking time. Embarrassing as well as infuriating. I'm extremely vexed.

You do remember the last few old firm games?

I hate these games. I rarely attend them and even less likely to watch them on TV . I’d usually jump in the car with Mrs and drive up north for the day but that’s not an option at the moment

We shat it on both. Of course remember. Games where you beat us but we gave our all. Just didn't happen. I forget those ones. It's when we bottle it that burns it into my hard drive. Thanks for reminding me. Fucker.

Not going to lie. He was not my first choice as I wanted Davide Ancelloti (doing a great job in Brazil) but we got RM. We have a baying mob of Stevie G fan boys on FF who were always going to react in this way if he didn’t hit the ground running and that was unlikely to happen considering we were ripping everything up and starting again.

No point dressing it up. Plzen at Ibrox apart it’s not been great but we are undefeated in all competitions after 5 games and only conceded 3 goals. You’re can’t be screaming to get a manager sacked after that!!

On the recruitment side we have brought in players , when allowed to play, have looked great and the football against Plzen was a joy to watch.

RM has to figure out how he’s going to play against the low block . He needs a way of beating teams who are never going to play football against you. The slow possession based game is not going to work in our league and it’s these games he will be judged on!

I’m nowhere near wanting him gone but then again I have the feeling I’m in the minority. Hope he can turn it around soon as things are getting toxic

I was never away. Unlike you, I could see fuck all to worry about. Its one of my favourite times of the year. Delusion fueled by overhype never fails to get predictions of coming. Never lasts. But a pisscase for its duration.. Can you see us now, no we can't. Maybe next year. Or the one after.
