Rangers thread | 2025/26

We should beat them, but I don't share the confidence we will. It is just another self inflicted situation we have all seen literally a dozen times. If we fail this will be 12 out of 19 times failing to get players in has cost us qualification. It's bad enough if we didn't have a pot to piss in, but we do. Sheer cowardice and lack of ambition, lowballing offers for players, embarrassing us all.

I truly fucking hate them all. More than I hate Rangers. I respect our enemy. They're whole purpose is to fuck up my mental wellbeing by winning trophy's. No problem with that at all. Our board are traitors. They act as our ceiling. They hold us back. They take us back. And that's why you take your enemy prisoner and shoot traitors.

I should be laughing my bollocks off at whats happening across the city. I can't even begin to enjoy it. Because everytime I try, that voice inside my head shuts that down with our own self inflicted woes. No **** in Glasgow is happy. Both of us are just fucked off in the extreme. As both situations are self inflicted, it cuts even deeper. Totally and utterly deflated. Oh and incandescent with rage at the incompetence of it all. Don't forget that.
All this rage after winning 13 of the last 14 league titles

Their board taking a vice like grip on the SPFL / SFA placing their men in all positions of power

Winning trophy after trophy and banking tens of millions at the same time

Aye. You can certainly see why they’d be incandescent with rage

That's the talk of an attitude that says, that's plenty. That's our board. We on the other hand, with resources there, want to use them to get better and start rebuilding a reputation in Europe, as a good team.

We haven't replaced Kyogo, now Khun. We are still at least four short of what dugs in the street can see is required. Where would we be if we had brought in players in half of those failrd attempts? About £200m up.

When you win the league, its a clean slate and you go again.. We dont say, oh that's lovely, let's let our pals catch up. That's it. We get no kudos for domestic success. Its expected. Wenwant to combine that with having a better team for Europe, we do that and at home we keep winning.

We are never going to be a contender in the CL. But we can qualify and put up a good show, for us. We have the money to pay for better players. We can attract good players by being able to offer them the CL exposure they need to get to bigger leagues. We make back all that money and some when they move on. Not great, but thats the way it is.

You are now owned by people who should be better than your recent boards. We need to be aware of that. We have the money that ensures we stay ahead, if we use it. Losing out on the CL reduces our financial gap and that makes it easier for you to close that gap.

That's just criminal negligence.

Its all about ambition and giving yourself the best chance. Fine if you dont have money to improve and fail. No excuse when you do and are forced to field players who would be out the door, if we had brought in quality we can afford.

The CL is the goal. Sort that and the league becomes even easier.

If they don't get the three points today, the vultures will shirley be circling over RM's head. Their next four fixtures (in all competitions) are Brugge, Celtic, Hearts and Hibs; only the Brugge game is away. That's not an easy set of fixtures.

Win our next 4 domestic games and things will suddenly look a whole lot better

Today’s game possibly the toughest of them all

Hard to believe
They might come back and win but so far this Rangers team is worse than Ferguson's team.
I cannot see any positives so far.

They've had a lot of shite managers in the last 15 or so years. Check this list

That rivals us for shiteness.

Lose the next two games and their season is ostensibly ended, at least in closing the gap quickly.
So we are not going to bother with League Cup? Scottish Cup? Whichever European tournament we are in? Just forget all this because we’ve drawn three league games!

Hysterical nonsense that’s more at home on FF

tbh he isn't wrong.

I said as a blue nose martin will be gone by December.

he will be gone by 1st week of september
He won’t be gone this season. Patrick Stewart said in an earlier interview they thought they would really struggle in Europe as it would come too early. As far as the board are concerned we have overachieved in Europe.

The league isn’t won and lost in August. OK it’s fucking horrific football at the moment but we are not even out the first transfer window and people think the manager is getting sacked. Not a chance

The board have said from Day 1 that it’s a long term investment and won’t be swayed in their vision.

I’m writing off Champions league so this week is about decent Europa League draw ( we deserve it after last season) and getting rid of Igamane and bringing in a quality striker!

A nine-point gap would arguably be insurmountable across the remaining league fixtures, and dropping out of the Champions League would probably reduce the money and prestige that could be earned. In both instances, that reduces Rangers’ ability to close the long-term gap on Celtic, who in turn need do precious little more to sustain their dominance.

If the domestic cups and a run in a secondary European trophy are all that’s left come September 1st, then that’s disappointing.
