Rat invasion

One got our garden last week.
Pity the rat didn't do his homework first because it's patrolled by my 2 German Shepherds.
Think the funeral is this Friday

Damned rats, four inch hole in my shed now thanks to them and their rat run underground through to next doors garden. I‘ve put poison down, got rid of three of them early summer but noticed again last week the horrid things are back. Not sure what to do next?

Get pest control in, even if you privately own your house you can get it much cheaper from your local council , go to the enviroment bit of the website and then onto pest control, mine come round in a couple of days

I have asked what if my cat kills a poisoned one and he says nothing will happen to the cat , seems to be right so far

I’ve spoken to them actually and they advised me what to get as the rats aren’t in my house they said I’d waste my money getting them out. I may have to do that in the long run. The annoying thing is all my neighbours and I have had to stop feeding the birds because of them.

i live with the garden ones , can never get rid because of where i live so let them be , the wildlife and the cat sees to them , in the loft is where we all get them along this side of the road and we have to get the poison up there unfortunately, i hate killing anything even wasps

I like rats and respect the little fuckers. Maybe not as house guests, but I don’t hate them. My cats on the other hand…….

Not all cats are ratters. Probably better with a Jack Russell or one of these......

Yeah you can get a Cat and some just can't be arsed, by the time you realise you have a shirker on board it's too late because you're invested in giving him the food he should be catching ;)

If there was a rat in my house id be moving out and letting the mrs get rid. Huge phobia of them.
Can deal with little mice as used to get the odd one in the old old house but rats, jesus. I couldnt sleep knowing there was one knocking about

Banned the wife from leaving fat balls for the birds after reading on here that rats eat 90% of them

You need to get one of those feeders that you hang up. Rats are cunning, but I'm pretty sure they can't leap 9 ft in the air, with nothing for them to climb on to get nearer to the feeder.

We had a 'pest' issue at work and I got to speaking to the Rentokil guy about such matters.

He said he preferred dealing with rats than mice because they're easier to deal with.
His advice; find the poo. Rats always return to where they defecate, so that's where to place the food laced with rat poison. Whereas mice just shit anywhere. He also didn't like squirrels.
