No, it isn't progress it's huge spending for little reward & abject failure.

If we do the same as Utd next season, he will not be calling it progress, nor will anyone on here.

If they make the top 4 this season, they will see it as a success regardless of how much money has been spent.

I'm lost as to how you are comparing us to United, they are way behind in the pecking order in terms of the top sides in England. The way I see it is that Neville probably expects bigger things from us than from United, and top sides are there to be criticised, but it also tells me that we are light years ahead of our Trafford neighbours.

And yet when we were in a lesser position than Utd, having never won the Premier League, Neville & Co were telling everybody that anything other than winning the league would be failure, & that the manager would be sacked. And most of the media ran with that all season.

Strange isn't it ?

And then to think, most teams who challenged Ferguson for the title ended up taking it from him, some more than once, & yet somehow, he stayed in a job. And is not considered a failure, by Neville.

As much as i despise Ferguson, to label him a failure would defy logic.

He hammers anybody who has a bad game, but he regularly praises those teams as if everything is going to plan & it's all understandable & 'needs time'. Whereas we are not allowed any, & were never allowed any.

The criteria for slating City is different to that applied to all other teams. If we did what Utd did, he would be telling us we are a disgrace, not saying how it 'needs time' & is 'progress'.

I actually worry for the mental health of anyone who thinks he's said anything other than the bloody obvious there.

Every year we get a few posters at this time of the season who have their breakdowns.
