We got depth for midfield but missed out on De Rossi and several others we could have used. I feel like Pizarro is more a replacement for Hargreaves than an answer to Toure's absence. Then again maybe he could add some etra creativity from a deep role.

Sorry if this has been done already

replacement for Hargreaves ?

Was Hargreaves a Mancini buy? or was he Marwoods...?

I'd argue he has a more complete game than Barry/Milner and DJ and has been doing well in training and looks fit,so why does Mancini not use him??

Hargreaves was a last resort signing when they wouldn't give Mancini any more money. I highly doubt he is Mancini's signing, he screams Marwood who likes signing local.

Mancini wanted De Rossi, Sandro, or Gago but couldn't get any of them because it was one transfer too many apparently. We might have gotten Gago on loan but he is not that good... although it'd be hard to offer less than Hargreaves has.

was not my point. My point is why the hell Hargreaves needs replacement as he himself is never used replacement.

Anyway, I don't understand Pizarro loan at all. Hope I'm wrong.

Cover for Toure, and Hargreaves seems too injury-prone for Mancini at the moment, Pizarro's signing is similar to Patrick Vieira's.

Overall, I'd say the signing of Pizzaro was on par with everyone around us. An experienced backup. 6/10..
I think it is silly to expect the kind of major haul we have had the last couple of years. Our team is pretty big now, so additions have to be shrewd.

To really rate our window, compare us to those around us.

United: Paul Scholes (36 yearold and ex-retired)- Backup

Tottenham: Luis Saha (34 year old backup Striker) Ryan Nelsen (Backup CB) and a kid they loaned out.

Chelsea: Cahill (Backup Centerback) DeBruyne (Loaned back to his club) Bamford (youth striker)

Arsenal: Henry (34 yearold Backup Striker) Eisfeld (youth midfielder- Talented but still a youth player)

Liverpool: Jordan Ibe (Fantasrtic youth player) But again a youth player.

Newcastle: Pappise Cisse (Very good striker)

So of the top 7, the only team that bought a likely starter was Newcastle, in Cisse. Everyone else pretty much got backups for varyng positions. We are no different. And seeing as we are at the top of the table, I'd say we have kept status Quo.

The league will be won with whatever team you had to start the season.

This January transfer window was really for teams trying to stave off relegation:

QPR, Norrich and Swansea did themselves huge favors. I thought Swansea had the best window, and QPR added the most talent. And finally, I think Norrich might have gotten the best player in this window in the person of Jonny Howson. I can see all 3 promotees sticking around for one more season.

7/10, as expected. Nothing special but got Pizarro which helps a lot. Got rid of a lot of players too, would have liked to sell Tevez too but ou well. Get used to buying ok players and only few world class players here and there, this is how January transfer windows go for many clubs...

It is really hard to argue with that.

We may be pissed off because we didn't take advantage to patch up the weaknesses in our team, but tbh there shouldn't be any as it is. I reckon the January transfer window should only be used to get cover for injured players and such. There is no value and if you do go for anyone rated half good you end up paying silly money like that seen for Carrol and Torress.

The lack of cover for Toure was addressed by getting Pizzaro. Anything else like our supposed need for genuine wingers - which I agree with - will have to be addressed next July if we don't want to be taken for a ride again.

Think we couldve done with another striker and perhaps a back-up centre half but always hard in winter window. Unless we sign Messi no transfer will ever live up to the moment i heard we signed Robinho anyway :)

Nedum gone for a fee - 2 pts
Bridge out on loan - 1pt
Pizzaro In - 2 pts (know little about him, but have to trust the gaffer)

Tevez still here - minus 4pts (carries double weight because of the fee we should have receive, plus now we have to deal with him for another few months)

Core Team still together - 1 pt
Yaya, Kolo & Balo all back soon - 1 pt each

Total - A middle of the road 5/10

You have to trust Mancini in that either we don't need another CB or forward, or they are not available on deals that are of longer term benefit t this club. Just look at some of the deals - Cisse for £8m? Championship players upwards of £4m, 'Boro rejecting a £6m offer for one of their defenders? Madness. We had a squad capable of being top until now.

Other than De Rossi, who obviously wasn't coming after all, or Klasic on a loan, I can't honestly see where we could have improved without spending £20m plus. Last thing we need is a Carroll or a Torres signing, too risky. Trust in what we have.
