Rate the refs

There are bent rag, arse, dipper, spuds and chav refs and a few utterly incompetant fuck wit refs, not one single bent City ref.
That makes a big difference come the end of the season.
There is a massive media led agenda against us and most of the refs are buying into it.

Therefore I'm labeling them all utter ****s just in case ..!
Understand what youre saying, but in all honesty, I never want to see a bent City ref. I just want want us to be handled fairly and evenly. If Vardy gets hacked down by Sagna or whoever tomorrow, I won't exactly be screaming penalty ref but equally don't want to think the official is thinking how we got robbed last week so lets wave it away

Totally unsurprised that the quality of refereeing is so poor. Who would want to be one now, the scrutiny they come under?

Starts in youth football, I've seen it first hand watching my son from Under 9s, the amount of stick young lads/lasses are given if they get a decision wrong is unreal. Why would anyone want to ref when you're subjected to that amount of abuse?
totally agree, it is hard to see who in their right mind is going to go into reffing with all the abuse that's around, but we have had campaign after campaign aimed at reducing the stick they get and they all flounder. "respect" the badge the lads wear in the Chumps league I was taught is earned and there are few guys in the middle right now earning respect, and many are their own worst enemy. Dissent has long been a red card offence but in my view until this tops the chart for reasons for reds then the players will just keep doing it.

On another point I can't really get why ex pro's don't fancy a stint. Can't see the likes of Gerrard or Beckham any time soon but if you've plyed your'e trade for Wycombe, Cheltenham or Walsall, a few extra quid to take you into your'e late 40's would I'm sure come in handy, and I'd be sure having played at a decent level they'd have as good if not better understanding of the game, most likely be fitter and command maybe a bit more respect.

By the nature of the job, they're all going to be remembered for particular games or mistakes.

For example I was the only blue in a train carriage on the way to a swamp derby (I think it was the 2-1 when Aguero got the winner)
The girl next to me suddenly announced that Mike Dean was the ref, and the whole carriage went ballistic.

Personally, I think Dean is one of the more consistent refs, and to be honest, I always preferred David Elleray for the same reason.
He might have come across as a public school twat, but he was a consistent public school twat.
