Agreed. They don't seem the type to chase, but also haven't been in systems that demanded that (that I know of anyway), so I would guess I can't suggest that they won't.
Marmoush, Nico G, Nunes, Foden, Khusanov and even Rodri to an extent, though all seem like heavy pressers who can encourage those around them to be more front-footed.

Could be wrong, but I feel we're in for some quite radical tactical changes this coming season, particularly out of possession. Hopefully see less of teams ripping through us on transitions.
I actually think this fella could be the signing of the summer.

If he can raise the tempo, plus adding the fact it’s a fresh start for lads, we move away from the plodder we become at times last year
A very brief bit of research shows he's a very fast runner even by PL standards.

Why are you like this?
That made me chuckle.

Sorry, I don’t mean to upset you.

I think he lacks a real turn of pace, every player has a weakness.

I’ve not said he’s shit, have I?

He is really good on the ball, so will make less careless errors than say gvardiol can at times. I just worry about the pace element.

Very good signing and his stats match up to Kerkez

Ait-Nouri - 4 goals, 7 assists, 86.7% pass completion, 46 chances completed, 89 tackles, 26 interceptions, 66 clearances, 55 take ons, 22/52 aerial duels won

Kerkez - 2 goals, 5 assists, 80.4% pass completion, 36 chances created, 52 tackles, 45 interceptions, 99 clearances, 22 take ons, 28/77 aerial duels won

Bearing in mind he was in a considerably worse team, they finished below united FFS

Don’t care about the price personally - but to justify it…

- 23 years old

- Years of PL experience already

- Brilliant footballer

- A key area of the squad

- 2 years (1 plus Wolves additional 1 year option) left on his deal

- Important to Wolves, price should reflect that

Age but experienced coupled with his fantastic ability, I’d argue £50m is a very very good deal.

Buzzing with this one. He and Gvardiol on the left hand side of the defence, they could play head tennis down the line! Two technical unicorns.
Yep. No idea why fans fixate on fees tbh. We’ll know what we can afford and what figure gets a deal done.

Mahrez was almost always available too. Something in the Algerian DNA
Think the fact they are largely teetotal plays a big part imo. I’ve noticed we are targeting a lot of Muslim players. I wonder if that is a big role. Targeting players who live the life unlike some we have had recently (naming no names)

Big spaces between sentences = slow witted poster. (Just trying to be helpful.)

Difficult to compare them with stats, to be fair. Kerkez plays as a traditional left back, whereas Ait-Nouri plays as a wing-back at Wolves. You might also find that Wolves are so shit that they are relying on a wing-back to be their main creator. All I'd say is that I've liked Ait-Nouri for a while, whereas I'd not even noticed Kerkez until he was linked to Liverpool and everyone started banging on about how great he was.

He’s great on the ball, but he’s chronically slow! Just like all of our defence.

Bad move defensively, will definitely make us better on the ball, but again really weak on those transition we can’t stop.

Rayan Ait-Nouri's top speed, as reported in a 2023-2024 Premier League analysis , was 36.10 km/h. This speed was recorded during a match against Tottenham.

Joško Gvardiol's top speed is around 33.92 km/h. This is according to Premier League reports. He has also been measured at 34.18 km/h in the UEFA Nations League.
