Fair enough mate I agree with that. But you wouldn't pay £50m for him given the chance again would ya!?We've got to stop putting Philips and Nunes in the same bracket of player. Some people might not like Nunes, but he has at least contributed.

I liked Danilo thought he was goodDo they? Who would you identify, of the players who cost a bit of money and didn't get sold on for what we paid or more, did the scouts get badly wrong? I reckon it's these:
Disaster: Mangala, Philips, Mendy (hardly the scouts fault), Bony, Jovetic (due to injury)
Never good enough: Sinclair, Rodwell, Gomez, Angelino, Nastasic, Garcia
Underwhelming: Nunes, Fernando, Navas, Torres, Grealish (for the money), Danilo, Nolito
For my money (and I might have forgotten a couple) that's all of shite signings since the infamously terrible transfer window of in the 12/13 season. And even some of these played an important role at times. The rags would manage that level of failure in a couple of transfer windows.
Tbf just seen hes got a 50 percent sell on fee... But he's only got 1 year left on his deal. Funny one to price up but wolves will try and get as much as they can due to the sell on clause. Still tho... Just pay it!We paid more than that for Mendy and Walker years ago
Gvardiol is faster than the average CB. on the high end of CBs for speed outside of the extreme case like Khusanov and the dude at Spurs. Dias is slow, but everyone else is average ( Ake, Lewis) or Above average ( Akanji, Stones). We simply do not have a slow defense.Well, if we take out O’Reilly and Nunes, because they aren’t defenders and if we are to improve they can’t play there..
Stones will be sold or will be injured, so I’d say Kushanov is the one with real pace, but I get the feeling it will probs be gvardiol and Dias first choice, who are good defenders but are bit slow. It’s nice to have full backs with pace to cover them?
I like ait nouri from a footballing viewpoint. It’s not all bad. I think he’s a decent signing, but yeah, think he lacks that acceleration.
Can't get all the signings right, we've done pretty well over the years.Fair enough mate I agree with that. But you wouldn't pay £50m for him given the chance again would ya!?

Ait Nouri would be for Fullbacks what Gvardiol is for CBs. On the fast side but not extreme like Robinson
I think your speed worries are overblown.
I personally am offended Danilo and Jesus navas are in the same category. Navas may have been a worse crosser of the ball than Kyle walker.Do they? I wonder where Oreily will play now and if he’ll get enough game timeLuckily, it meant NOR could solidify a place in the squad for the second half of the season. That Everton goal away at Goodison was vital.
I did too.I liked Danilo thought he was good
same place, backup LBI wonder where Oreily will play now and if he’ll get enough game time
same place, backup LB
Maybe, but doubt it, loads of players to give time there to.Might see him in CM in this tournament with Rodri there to hold his hand
Part of Pep’s reduced squad is likely to mean minutes for all in that squad. Back up left back and plenty of midfield minutes I would sayI wonder where Oreily will play now and if he’ll get enough game time
Well, in my opinion those pinpointed stats says little to nothing about how good a player is at defending. Evident by the players you highlighted as being top in those categories.I explained the stats i based it on. High rates of tackles coupled with low rates of getting skinned, per 90 minutes. Dalot, Mitchell and Udogie were the only ones with better stats in that narrow context So as a 1 v 1 defender, Rayan, was part of the cream of that class last season.
The point isn't that Dalot is good ( even though he is decent) rather it's to show that "defensive solidity" in fullbacks is a bit of a myth.
Kyle Walker at his peak is an anomaly. And even then, what Kyle had in spades at 1 v 1 defending, he lacked in general defensive awareness. So even prime Kyle wasn't that good defensively at everything. He was just very good at the flashy defensive part. I.e. duels, strength and athleticism.
Erm not sure if you saw our fullbacks and there defending last year lolWell, in my opinion those pinpointed stats says little to nothing about how good a player is at defending. Evident by the players being highlighted as top in those categories.
Ait-Nouri is a good attacking wingback and hopefully Pep can help him become a good attacking fullback thats also good enough in defense. He will, in my opinion, have to improve in the defensive area if he wants to be a regular starter here. But its usually easier to learn an attacking player to be good enough in defense than the other way around so there is many reasons to be optimistic about his chances to become a good player for us if we sign him! But we dont need to pretend there isn't some question marks about his defense and ability to play in a back 4.
Fabrizio from Del Monte?
Apparently Wolves have the option to extend so a bit messy/added complexity!!Tbf just seen hes got a 50 percent sell on fee... But he's only got 1 year left on his deal. Funny one to price up but wolves will try and get as much as they can due to the sell on clause. Still tho... Just pay it!
