Fair enough mate I agree with that. But you wouldn't pay £50m for him given the chance again would ya!?
Working out transfer fees to me is impossible. If you're asking was there better out there at the time for similar - yep you're probably right.

Unbelievable skills for a wing-back.Hope we get him. As for being a Wolves fan, you might be forgiven for thinking what's the point? They always seem to lose their better players. Neto, (arguably Nunes),Raul, Neves and now Ait Nouri.

Do they? Who would you identify, of the players who cost a bit of money and didn't get sold on for what we paid or more, did the scouts get badly wrong? I reckon it's these:

Disaster: Mangala, Philips, Mendy (hardly the scouts fault), Bony, Jovetic (due to injury)

Never good enough: Sinclair, Rodwell, Gomez, Angelino, Nastasic, Garcia

Underwhelming: Nunes, Fernando, Navas, Torres, Grealish (for the money), Danilo, Nolito

For my money (and I might have forgotten a couple) that's all of shite signings since the infamously terrible transfer window of in the 12/13 season. And even some of these played an important role at times. The rags would manage that level of failure in a couple of transfer windows.
If my maths is right, we are about 120m net loss on all of those. Not terrible really and massively offset by the transfers we brought in during that time that contributed to our success.

That's because not rating fullbacks isn't a thing, just something you've made up.It can be as valuable as any other position and worth as much.
True. But it is a thing though. If you check the highest average paid players by position, they are in this order: Striker/ Goal scorer, then goal creator, then Central defender, then Goalie, then DMs, the last is fullback. Average cost of ten best players at each position will make that clear.

Its not just me who doesn't rate full backs, the sport doesn't. For good reason. It is viewed, rightly or wrongly so, as the least value for money.

Our recruitment, best measured by trophies, leads me to thinking we are one of the best at recruitment.
Our recruitment has been a shitshow for the last 4 transfer windows at least. We have allowed the likes of Mahrez, Sterling, Zinny, Laporte, Jesus and such like quality squad players leave, whilst replacing them with the likes of Nunes, Doku, Savinho. Marmoush is the only recent signing that has been a positive.

The trophies won as you state was off the back of previous recruitment, quite a few years ago now where yes, we recruited fantastically well. Recent history suggests our recruitment has took a nose dive.

The delusion is real.
Zinny, Mahrez, Sterling, Laporte and Jesus were all condemned here - not a left-back; not athletic enough; doesn't put a shift in; can't turn for toffee; needs six chances to score...
What is it about a section of our support that everyone who left us is a world-beater but everyone we sign isn't good enough?

I'll be clear that I think that Nunes is as good as Zin, or better; Doku and Savinho have equal potential to Sterling and Mahrez; and Marmoush is better than Jesus. Give me Mahrez at 20, for example, and tell me his playing record at that time compared to Savinho. I thought Raz was a cracking player for us, but was he universally lauded here? Not on your Nelly!

I'd say Walker turned out to be a bargain TBH, worth every penny (relatively).
I worded that wrongly. I meant to say Mendy didn't work out. But kyle wasn't a bargain. He became what 50 million was supposed to be. A too tier full back. But definitely no bargain.

So what you are saying is City are not a big club? Which big clubs were after Frimpong?
Come on, Frimpong was already playing for Bundesliga champions. Rayan Ait Nouri is at the same level as Cucurella, both are good ball players, but poor defensively

Very harsh on Danilo, played 2 seasons in multiple positions, never put a foot wrong winning 2 titles (5 trophy’s) & we got back what we paid.

Maybe an extra category brief but successful.

Squad players as I clearly put in my post. We let good squad players go, you know players that could step in when needed. They were replaced with crap. You talk of delusion and then say Doku and Savinho have equal potential to Sterling and Mahrez haha, fuck me.

You are making my point for me, we replaced Mahrez, someone who contributed high end in terms of numbers and replaced him with a raw kid. That is us being weaker and going backwards. That is ok for the odd player, but most of our outgoing players haven't been replaced with the same quality. It is pretty simple really.

Bollocks, should we have made changes last summer ,obviously Pep and Khaldoon said as much. For the last 4 years ? Utter shite.

Erm not sure if you saw our fullbacks and there defending last year lol
I did, our defending was terrible compared to our usual high standards. But if you think our defense was bad I would imagine you think the defense Ait-Nouri was a part of, the one who conceded more goals than any other non relegated team, was atrocious.

With that said, Wolves bad defending is obviously not just down to Ait-Nouri. I hope he will be a great addition to the squad and think playing in our system, being around better players and working with Pep will help improve the weaker areas of his game!

Justice for Javi Garcia! Poor in his first season without a doubt but absolutely vital in the second half of the 2013/14 season, kept Fernandinho out the team
