According to some Liverpool fans we are doing stuff behind the backs.. that’s why we are able to get players for a reasonable fee.. unbelievable. You pay too much you have oil money.. you pay less.. you are bribing them or offering free stuff in the Middle East.. clown festival

Probably the bargain of this window so far. We'll hopefully get the bargain of the summer in the bag Monday.
Not complaining about the price, it's obviously one we are more than comfortable with but he's got 12 months left on his contract which everybody seems to be ignoring.

£30+million for a fullback we could in theory get on a free next summer can never be considered a bargain.

You pay £125mill, and you have the most expensive bargain ever, alongside being the previous Net Spend Champions.

Fair enough. But we'll worth the money - we all hope.

They are taking bitterness to the next level.
We wasn't this bitter even in our darkest days.
I guess only winning 2 Premier Leagues in 35 years eats away at you.

I don’t think we play the German rags penny pinching way, and wait 12 months to save on a fee. We identify targets and get them in when we need them, personally I’d prefer to go back to winning ways next season, so I’m happy for the transfers being completed.

I for one do not give a stuff about the fees paid, it is money on paper as far as I’m concerned. I don’t think our clubs operations can please all on here, when we flex our financial clout we are overspending in some supporters eyes, then when we negotiate for extended periods many are say “just pay the fee”.

I think this club is run so well, we have an excellent academy that uncovers great talent to help fund windows like this, I also think that the way we treat fairly our players who do want to leave, goes a long way to securing new talent. I believe that they can see that we are an honourable club with excellent people coaching and managing it.

From what I read, Wolves had an additional year extension clause, so in effect there were 2 years left.

No we wouldn’t since they had +1 option next summer and they would definitely trigger it.

Liverpool fans are cunts, take no notice.

Indeed. Nobody could say walker was a bargain at the time, a world record fee for a fullback, was very overpriced but he went on to prove to be well worth the money and in retrospect turned out to be a bargain. lets hope we see a repeat of that but we can't be calling it a bargain right now. it's still a lot of money for any fullback, it's even more for one with 12 months left on his contract.

We wanted him this year though not next year?

You're right but we have got him for a good price so we're all happy.

It's been said a few times now that Wolves had an additional, optional, year so in effect it's 2 years left. Plus the sell-on for Angers. So it is a very, very good price
