it seems like he's mostly been playing on the right rather than centrally. also he is quite slow. however he is fantastic against low blocks so i don't think he'll struggle centrally. Seems like an interesting fit, some upsides, some downsides

Cherki was a real thorn in England's U21 side in the 5-3 game in March, a side that included many Premier League players, including Wharton, Scott, and Anderson, as well as at least 5 players who came through our academy. Presumably he'll be playing in the U21 tournament this summer.

He played as a 10 the whole season

i remember him playing on the right against the rags
He;s started about 9 games in the 10, but enough about his technique and vision etc to play there for us etc. Id have no worries about his attacking side.

Thorn is an understatement. I implore anyone who didn't watch: go at least check out the highlights from that game. He was dominant.

Really made me believe he was a future star.

Hello, this is my first message here on Forum. I express myself with a translation app. I apologize in advance for the mistakes and mistakes I can make in English.

I live in Lyon even though I am not a supporter of Olympique Lyonnais, so I know the player very well, I have watched a lot of his matches.

As Akliouche (Monaco), Cherki has greater potential, he is considered the greatest talent in the French Ligue 1 outside PSG. At Lyon's training center, which is one of Europe's top training centres, Cherki is considered the greatest talent since Benzema. He is spoken of as a future great player since he was 12, 13 years old, and since that young man, he has a huge pressure on his shoulders, which affected him a lot negatively, in a club in perdition (the Olympique Lyonnais) who knows the worst years of his history.

If today Cherki's price is around €30m, Akliouche (minimum 60m), it's because the club has big financial problems and heavy debts, and may go down to lower division. So he absolutely has to sell to stay in Ligue 1. he renewed his contract, and the leaders promised him to let go at a low price around twenty Millions

I read a lot of things about why big clubs didn't recruit him. Think again, some clubs have made offers, but they don't come to fruition for many reasons. Last year, he almost signed at PSG. Luis Enrique, the coach, and Luis Campos, the sporting director, enjoyed the player a lot and had a deal for him to sign it, but the player refused at the last moment and preferred BVBDortmund.

but he did not sign for Dortmund because at the last minute the German club changed coaches and unlike Edin Terzic who was sacked, and the new coach Sahin did not want the player, so to everyone's surprise the player stayed in Lyon

He turned down other offers from Premier League and European teams because he wanted a team that could play at the top.

That's a bit of clarification, if it helps answer some of your questions.

The only problem is that he enjoys that free role for France and can punish teams from anywhere. Would Guardiola give him that freedom, as enjoyed by de Bruyne, for example, or would he make him conform to the system?

Welcome Sam! Appreciate your input.

Can you clarify what you think his best position is? He seemed to have spent most of his time on the right, but I think we're intending to play him centrally. Likewise, do you think his style of play fit's pep's possession style? He will face a lot of low blocks in the prem. Do you have any concerns about his physicality and how well he can adapt to the pace of the PL?
