Rayan Cherki

have people actually seen him play ? ,just goggled him as i knew nothing of him, one of the first results of the search said fifa23 ,so i looked at that, he is a low young player(73) who can rise to 88, thought so.

Bobb has not played a minute of senior-level football, and Palmer doesn't have anywhere near the level of experience Cherki has, and there is no guarantee Palmer is going to cut it here.

Cherki has world-class potential and a much higher ceiling than any of the ones you mentioned

There's also no guarantee Cherki would cut it here? The point was we need ready made(Raphina link for example) not potential, it wasn't a comparison between him and our 2.
Cherki has 2 sub appearances in the champions league from 4 seasons ago. So he has ligue 1 experience over Palmer and that's it.

5 Goals in 83 appearances is what constitutes a forward with worldclass potential these days? Havertz scored 17 in the league in a season at his age.

Ill make it simple for you why we want him, its not the goals, its the creativity.

Three important numbers here:

xAG (Expected Assisted Goals), he is in the 95th percentile.

Shot Creating Actions, he is in the 97th percentile.

Successful takeons, in the 99th percentile.

At freaking 19 years old, for reference, Barcola ranks in the 73rd, 8th, and 87th percentile in those 3 stats.

We're probably not even interested.

Anyway, we don't need creativity, we need goals. Losing Mahrez and Gundo..thats 30-40 goals a season..who is picking up that slack?

Maybe. But his lack of contribution is worrying. What is he missing?

Those two combined scored only 26 goals this season in around 6900 minutes.

We will miss there goals, but mainly we miss their control and chance creation.

The goals can be made up by playing Alvarez more, and Foden in the middle more.

The wings are primarily, for us, chance creators and controllers, then goal scorers.

Doesn't look like he tracks back, I'm out.

I was already a fan from the little that I watched of him, you convinced me even more :) He's the typical wide playmaker / versatile creator that Pep favours out wide nowadays. There's a talent waiting to explode, he has the needed technique and the numbers will improve under Pep (if he could get Raz to score tons etc). Hope the rumors have some truth in them.
