It's a lazy comment to make "He's cheap because he's not that good".

£30m for a 21 year old isn't cheap for starters.

Liverpool bought a young French defender Ibrahima Konate for £36m, Is he not good?

We've bought Akanji for £15m, He went on to win the lot with us. Alvarez for £14m.

I could go on with numerous more transfers that have been really good value or "cheap" as you call it.
His stats and age are comparable to Wirtz whose asking price is roughly £100m.

He is cheap, but obviously, that doesn't mean he isn't good!

He's cheap because he's not that good.

His level is in and around gernacho, Anthony etc.

No pace, no work rate, no aggression and very inconsistent.

He has demonstrated this season that he can make meangiful contributions unlike our current wide players, but in the context of the league he's playing in, its not that impressive.
So how come he's been picked for the French squad to play Spain, you melt?

Your opinion is "truth". Okay mate

A few people have called this lad lazy so "THAT'S RACIST!!!!"

Proper embarrassing stuff

Nobody was calling you or any other bluemoon forum member a racist because they said Cherki might be lazy. So there's no need to be defensive.

Someone was talking about the bigger picture of French players with North African ancestries being historically denigrated and unfairly stereotyped.

And, quite frankly, I'm not sure that's a discussion in which you are qualified to offer any meaningful input.

Am I not? Hahaha okay gatekeeper of what discussions people are allowed to have Adolf

I've seen plenty of him.

I tell you who's he's very similar too, in terms of style, play and attitude, and consistency…Sancho!

I encourage you to look at Anthonys stats when he left Ajax for United. Don't get get to hung up on them.

He's not the one. Promise.
I'm sure the club do background checks regarding a players attitude, lifestyle outside of football, Maintaining the reputation of the club, Compliance and all sorts of other stuff.

I could understand if Pep was unsure. He inherited 3 French players from Manuel and got rid pretty quick. His only other foray into the French gene pool was ... enough said. Of course I may be assuming to much!

Having said that I do hope he's up for this one.

Let’s hope we use a different guy to the one who did them for Grealish
Since Pep gas arrived we've been incredibly good with signing players with incredibly good attitudes and don't cause many problems.

Grealish and Joao Cancelo are two that spring to mind that have been somewhat of an issue, Although if that's as far as it goes then we're all good. One or two out of a possible 200 or whatever is pretty good going imo.

???

Grealish is a great lad and not even in the same league at Cancelo for being a little bitch. Jack’s problem is more that he’s just so laid back and doesn’t have that extra fire in his belly to be elite at the very highest level.

The best "cheap" player we've ever signed was Kompany for 6 n' half million squid.

See my above post.

I've worded that one badly. I fully agree with you.

I don't think Jack's been an issue he hasn't caused any uproar or hassle, Maybe he has his own things going on outside of football that has taken effect on him (That's just guessing).

Personally I wouldn't like to see Jack leave, I think he's more than good enough to play and start regularly in this team.

Whether it's us, Newcastle or whatever his next move is get him back to the levels of 2023 then there's a serious player.

Unfortunately the desire looks to be gone.
