He’s not slow. We’ve got pace in the forward positions but against parked busses it’s very difficult to utilise.What we need is a great dribbler in central areas to open up defences. This lad has that and being completely two footed makes him very hard to stop. Palmer has no pace but he’s not bad at creating!

I said earlier on here Cherki is basically a faster version of Palmer.

Which is a fucking great thing.

Exactly - also one of the greatest players we ever had to unlock defences didn't have searing pace but he had a speed of thought that was way ahead of anyone else - A certain David Silva. Cherki looks like he has the potential for a bit of that - I don't want a team of Forrest Gump runners just because they are fast! This lad seems to have something about him and I'm all for it - hope we get him.

It should be. You can’t control pressure but the media control the narrative portrayed and unfortunately for us they hate us and love the dippers.

It will be nothing like Grealish cost 100m in my opinion.

Look at Chelsea with Enzo or Caicedo I never see the fee mentioned in the media or on social media.

We also need to not fall into the trap of “Cherki will be better than Wirtz because he cost x amount less” and let him develop at his own pace. I think he’ll be great but new country, new demands from the league and Pep. Players that have it flourish in those situations so I can’t wait to see what he’s like.

I know he’s not like them all but I’m getting like Bernabia, berkovic and Georgi vibes where he’ll become an instant Fans favourite. Scary potential.
 
What I will say his numbers last season was good goals and assists. He had good numbers. The standard in the French league is decent I know PSG always win that league I would compare it to the German league they do have a lot of younger players all over that league. He also looked good in that French Olympic team too. I think if we can get a deal for him he might be the signing that will be the long term project but the creative options if he signs gets better and better. Reminds me of the new Mahrez
 
People forget that when Lyon played PSG he was the best player on the pitch despite Lyon losing. That should say it all. Individually Cherki isn’t behind anyone in Ligue 1. I think he will not reach a new level but he will be seen more once he plays for us.
 
He is a huge talent and a young player who has the ability to unlock defences. That is all we can say at this stage. I'd be delighted to sign someone of his ability. How it goes from there will be down to him as much as it is down to us.
