I've always been quite positive about it. Watching City is never a bad thing, and I'd rather this than us playing friendlies in the US and making 10 subs a game. It's also come at a really good time for us. Let's us measure ourselves against Europe's best and pushes us to get our transfers done quickly. If we're dire then it also gives us the chance to get back into the market and sort things out.

It is a total beauty parade. But better being part of it than not. And it does seem to focus the minds, a bit of a reset of the poor season without the whole summer of dwelling on it by the players and manager. This is probably the beat year for it, timing wise, on the back of the treble or 4 in a row, could have been a total ballache. Now, think it is a good relief.
