Rayan Cherki

I sincerely hope my fellow travellers on the match day thread will refrain (at least for the first couple of games) from tearing strips off Rayan if he cruises around the pitch and occasionally doesn't track back.

Even if he sets up three goals a game, that won't satisfy my match day mates :)
HE'S SHIT!!!!!!! AAAAAAARRRRGGGGGHHHHH!

Update:

Being told to expect confirmation of the deal before Sunday.

Today.

The message received at 8am. ‘expect confirmation of the agreement between clubs within the next 24 hours’

Medical already planned.
Is your source generally reliable? Has he been right in other deals in the past?

Did he come off the bench last night?
Scored France's 2nd to make it 5-2 then provided the pass that resulted in their 3rd goal and set up Frances 4th goal.
Basically he tore the Spainish defence another A-Hole while he was on the pitch
But France ran out of time to equalise.
By the looks of that game he is going to make one hell of an addition to the City team.
And all the news is it's a done deal with a medical this weekend

Cherki will get the best out of other players, but to get the best out of Cherki, we’re also going to need able runners and workers behind him. Doesn’t matter about pressing and tracking back, we need more. Still think another midfielder will be brought in, someone with a real engine and a bit of snap.

Are you sure? Surely there'd be some video evidence?

This Pep will ruin Cherki line in the media is wrong. All because of Grealish, I like Grealish but he's never been a goal scorer or top assister even at Villa, people speak of Grealish at Villa like he was one of the best in the league, he never was that player.

Multiple wingers have improved under Pep, Sterling, Sane , Mahrez, Coman , Henry etc this is from a Mahrez interview

Also thanks for a genuine answer :-)

This is the main problem we have and tbh I’ve been blindly hoping we have it under control!

All three of Ait-Nouri, Reijnders and Cherki are great going forwards but all 3 have the defensive side of the game as their main weakness. I saw a video from a Milan fan who was gutted to be losing Reijnders, talked for ages about how great he’s been and then said that the only positive on the pitch is that “at least we’ll be better defensively now”. So that’s a bit of a concern when you factor in that it’s going to take Rodri a long time to be in the right place mentally to trust his knee when going into challenges again. I don’t know what our plan is off the ball, but on the ball we’re going to be amazing.

well we were poor defensively and going forward last year, at least one of those situations has been rectified, on top of that at-nouri allows gvardiol to move inside and we look much more solid when he plays at cb
