A lot of my YouTube algorithm is City stuff and sometimes he pops up because he’s moaning about us or trying to “hate watch” us. I tend to click not interested on the channel and strike it as offensive just so people don’t get the same video going to their algorithm and they watch it which keeps him on there.

What you're missing here is the fact that Cherki would have to want to play for that shite and who in their right mind would choose that.

Man Utd are bigger than Lyon and that he hasn't always been centre-stage. I think it reflects quite badly on Man Utd that they prepared games against Lyon and Cherki and did not apparently move for him.

The only argument against this is if City have had Cherki lined up for months. I don't believe that but it's possible.

Playing Devil’s Advocate, one could also wonder why we weren’t savvy enough to get him in the winter window, when we were flush with cash and stockpiling centre backs as if they were hen’s teeth. The uncomfortable truth is that Cherki could quite easily have ended up elsewhere then, as others were willing to buy. Always happy to enjoy that lot’s misfortune, but our transfer business in the last few windows was hit and miss, so I’m just thankful things now appear different.
