RB Leipzig (H) | Post Match Thread

Walking through town yesterday I said good luck to a few City fans, who all seemed to be over from the Emerald Isle. Hope you had a great night. Also met a couple of Leipzig fans who were very jovial, especially as it was hammering it down!

Yes I has Cousin and his Son over and there was a Man and his Son from Cork sat next to me. Defiantly getting stronger over there but will take a while to catch up with Rags and Dippers.

I think it’s time BBC, SKY, ITV and BT changed 90% of commentators on the football, they all have a agenda with and always pushing the ex teams they played for 10 years ago or more. We need ex players who retired in the last 5 years who don’t live in the past, football rules have changed so much that these dinosaurs who report now still bang on about it’s never a penalty or handball, shearer said last night that’s the shittish pen he’s seen,he wouldn’t have said that if it applied to the magpies rant over.

Bollocks!
this was supposed to be a celebratory thread until that yank tarquin **** came with its infectious post filled with delusion, venom and jealousy. Woolwich ****.

Goals change the course of games, and when the first two goals are dubious, it's going to affect how the rest of the match plays out. If Leipzig could've kept a clean sheet until the break and Ederson had been shown the red card, who knows what might have happened.

Let me make this clear: City are a WAY better team. They are going to win this fixture 99 out 100 times, especially at the Etihad. But they shouldn't have received those favors from the referee. Leipzig were denied any real shot at this game because of him.

We saw how Milan and Inter went through by digging in and playing ultra defensively (albeit against worse teams). Had a similar referee been in charge of their games, they wouldn't have had a chance.
Such refereeing performances bring the game into a state of disrepute. I don't think it's in City's best interest to win like this either.

In short: Congrats on your advancement. Massive performance. But I don't want to hear you guys ever complain about refs again.

If you think what Ederson did was deserving of a red, you are genuinely clueless. As for the second goal, Haaland didn't foul the keeper. Watch the replay and you will see the keeper did not even claim it was a foul.

As for the pen, it should not have been awarded but in the first leg,we were denied a pen. It was so obvious that even the studio guests found it funny that it was not given.

From the first 15 minutes, it was clear we were going to win. They had nothing to offer with the ball while we were going through them and around them. We could easily have been winning 7/8-0 based on the quality of the chances after 60 mins. It could gave been 10 if we did not take our foot off the gas

I try not to be biased but we have had key decisions in games that may have well led to us losing points. Some of those decisions were very poor (e.g. Rashford goal a week later).

I appreciate you are feeling either nervous or believe Arsenal are not worthy. After all, you know we are the best team in the country. Next year, when you have CL (and a likely increase in injuries and tiredness) as well as potentially a target on your back, your team is more likely to finish outside the top 4 than mount any kind of challenge for the league.

Just watched the whole match.

Haaland is now looking like a City player ! Working hard, chasing down etc.
Stones just wow, at one stage I thought it was one of our tricky midfielders doing a run, no it was Stonesy !

Dont get all the matchday moans about Rodri, miss placed 3 passes all game

Looking forward at tomorrow's draw, out of interest I watched Real vs Dippers & must say Real looked the real deal & a lot more solid than when we played them last year.

They still possess the skill & guile, but they've added steel & control to their game too. Real are the one's to watch imo.

As the commentator said, whoever wins the 2023 Champions League will have to beat a certain team in white. \0/
