RB Leipzig (H) | Post Match Thread

Is too bad that after amazing performance from all the players we need to talk about vincic mistake which, by my opinion, doesn't affect the result

Goals change the course of games, and when the first two goals are dubious, it's going to affect how the rest of the match plays out. If Leipzig could've kept a clean sheet until the break and Ederson had been shown the red card, who knows what might have happened.

Let me make this clear: City are a WAY better team. They are going to win this fixture 99 out 100 times, especially at the Etihad. But they shouldn't have received those favors from the referee. Leipzig were denied any real shot at this game because of him.

We saw how Milan and Inter went through by digging in and playing ultra defensively (albeit against worse teams). Had a similar referee been in charge of their games, they wouldn't have had a chance.
Such refereeing performances bring the game into a state of disrepute. I don't think it's in City's best interest to win like this either.

In short: Congrats on your advancement. Massive performance. But I don't want to hear you guys ever complain about refs again.

You registered on this forum on 4 March, i.e. you've just hatched out of the egg, in terms of people who've got 10,000, 20,000, 30,000 posts behind them. You've got five. And you're already throwing your weight about telling people on here what they should do? What the actual…!
I sometimes post on Arsenal Mania, as a clearly identified City fan. I'm very careful about the way I post, the wording I use. As it behoves a guest on another club's main forum.
I suggest a little more care and humility would be in order.

The rules gifts us the first. Not the ref.
Not seen the Ederson incident replayed yet.
The one I have not seen mentioned was the no foul decision on Jack on the edge of the box first half.
Looked a clear foul at the game.

I suggest this joker should look back at the final minute of the away leg when we were denied an absolute stonewall penalty for handball - directly in front of a defender's face - which was totally ignored by the ref - and media/other fans like GunnerV here - and it wasn't even subjected to a VAR check.
I could go on - Rashford; the various Spurs incidents; get over it, you tit.

Lol

The decisions went our way last night, some might say that was a long overdue experience.....but Leipzig were never getting anything from the game, they were abysmal and we were on fire.....let's get that clear.

Shove your 'congrats' up your arse, just like that other fake mockney turd @Jack Hackett,we can see straight through your fake praise.

Looking forward to putting you cunts back in your box when we meet.

He left his leg in and manufactured the 'foul'.

Not what i want to see from our (or any) players.

my honest appraisal;

1. shitty rules, not the ref. very soft pen.
2. Ederson should have been booked and free kick, even if he scraped the ball it was reckless. Not a red.
3. Jack dived/left a leg, or let's say went down incredibly easily, for me.

How about starting CL matches half an hour earlier, or is that a daft idea?
Two things, timing of matches is probably largely to suit TV as much as matchgoers.
But themain thing is that for many the time it takes to get home the time of kick off is less relevant than the time it takes to get out relative to other fans.
I live over 200 miles away and virtually never leave early but if I have something pressing to do leaving just before 90 minutes can make around 40+ minutes difference in time to get home.

Spot on

So much bullshit in one post. Congrats.
I would have been annoyed (but not surprised) if that pen had been given against us, but once he went to the monitor he was always going to give it, based on the defender’s arm position.
As for the supposed foul by Haaland on their keeper, never a foul, just a mistake forced by our press.
Ederson got away with one but it wouldn’t have been red if he gave it the other way, yellow at worst.
And in case you missed it, City were all over Leipzig from the kick off, there was only going to be one winner in that game.
And as for telling us “I don’t want to hear you guys ever complain about refs again” on our own forum, pull your head in you arrogant tit.

Goals change the course of games,
Seven of them change them quite a bit . Whereas the first penalty was undoubtedly fortuitous it didn't change the shape or nature of the game , it looked no different before and after.

If we miss every single chance we create it will change a game that is true for every game played, The fact is we won comfortably.

Ederson might have got a yellow but it was not a red in anyone's book.

What a performance. I said to my son at the substitutions that momentum would drop, and it did.

I thought Gomez was excellent when he came on. Very energetic, and did some good stuff. Should boost his confidence.

Not sure what the instructions were after the subs. We cruised and contained. Phillips was efficient. It's unfair to compare him with Rodri, who is probably one of the best in the world in that position, but Phillips' awareness seems low, and his passes whilst all safe, go only the way he is facing. They aren't ambitious or incisive. He needs to improve this part of his game if he wants more playing time.

Got to feel sorry for Alvarez, who came on when a number of our best midfielders had left, meaning he's not seeing as much of the ball. Foden too to a degree.

Hey, I live in Blackpool and have work at 7am. Those ten minutes make the difference between 11pm and midnight
I was at work 5am sharp this morning. Where I live, with its 3 sets of roadworks and pointless traffic filtering for seldom used bike lanes it probably takes the same amount if time aa it does to get Blackpool. Gladly sacrifice my time to applaud the lads off.
