As some you will remember a couple of guys came up with the idea of getting a letter together asking City if they would do away with the traditional shirt sponsor and instead replace it with a charitable organisation such as Christies.
Christies was a natural choice due to the fact that it had just lost several million pounds in the collapse of the Icelandic bank Kaupthing, Singer and Friedlander in May and July and with it being such a wonderful LOCAL hospital we thought it might make good sense for both City and Christies to get together.
So early January after several meetings and corresponde with other City forums such as MancityFan and bluewatch, established fan associations such as C.S.A and ex playing Legends Ken and Peter Barnes we sent a letter on the clubs advice to Rebecca Firth at City.
*You will be glad to know that it was'nt me who wrote the letter, the letter came from Gaz (bluemoon115) and Dave (DaveP) who I owe a lot of gratitude to...Thanks lads.
We have now received this letter back from Rosie Bass PR & Media Exec MCFC.

Dear Pete,
Many thanks for your recent letter to Rebecca Firth regarding The Christies Trust. I am the club’s PR & Media Executive, working alongside our head of communications, and I help to direct and publicise our charitable giving policy.
I read your thought-provoking letter with a great deal of interest and thank you very much for taking the time and trouble to complete compile the testimonials.
As I’m quite certain you can appreciate, all decisions relating to shirt sponsorship deals are done at the very highest level and I cannot, therefore, give you any indication as to whether your suggestion may be possible. Please do be assured, however, that I will pass on your letter to the relevant people for consideration.
Rosie then goes onto mention the good work that City do charity wise and that she will contact me as soon as she hears anything.
Understandable there has been alot of talk of City already going for a sponsor deal with Etihad, but it would be good for ALL involved and ALL that will be involded in our club if City could some how get Christies involded and get back some of there lost Charity funds through shirt sales or some other great ideas mentioned by City fans in the original thread, whilst also letting the world know that this club that is going to ruin football is a lot more sensitive to what is going on in this world outside of the top four.
A special thanks to ALL the City fans that let us use their testimonials. I know we are along way off yet, but we can't thank you enough for your inspiration.
Cheers Pete.
