Re: Why does super Mario not celebrate

Just wanted to get a fellow blues opinion on this it's really strange that when he scores there is no emotion or celebration your thoughts please
he was never big on celebrating goals when he was at inter so i wouldn't read too much into it....i'm sure the journo's and a few on here will though.

I like it, its different and come across as having some class. Much better than a group of players doing some role play. Wont belong before the kids on the playing fileds are coppying him

Are you all forgetting that when he had a shot and it hit the side netting he looked pissed off and i think he even punched the air.
Dont worry lads, he does care!

Actually, he does.

If you watch him, just after he scores there is a little clenched fist and a look on his face that says 'get in there'.

Then he scowls again.

Yeah he was pleased with both his goals. It's a bit of an act. It's a bit like when Tyson used to come down to the ring with no music on, without a robe. He was nervous, just like any other fighter. Balotelli likes scoring, just like any other player.

he had a big grin on his face when he came off

as did adebayor when he came on (although that's normal)

like other people have said, he is playing the part of a cool ninja.. and although that may not endear him to everyone, if he keeps scoring, well..

Check out the smile when he goes over to Zab

Yeah, simple he knows its what he is supposed to do.

I'd love to see him just stand there and scowl at all the City fans going barmy.

I know he's loving it, he know's we are loving it.

i know a lot of city fans wont like him. obviously he has class but he also has a very sluggish way to his play where he just doesnt look bothered. and to add to that every fan wants to see a player go mental and celebrate. you cant argue with his goal scoring record so far tho.

I am not arsed if he celebrates or not ... thats our job. if he keeps banging them in i will do my job and go fucking mental. I think he is a complex character and needs to feel the love , if we can make him feel loved he will stay and do the business for us.

There are elements of his game which are truly world class.

Unfortunately, he will never been classed as so.

You can't learn desire, he believe his talents are enough, but it takes more than that.

He reminds me of Anelka at the same age when he came in at Arsenal.

TBH he is already recognised as world class.

That is incorrect. There is not a general consesus that puts him up with Messi and Ronaldo.

The consensus is that he has the potential to be world class.

Vieira was very clever last night with his after match comments. He must strive to do more for the team.

I fear his constant going to ground, his indifference to join in the forward attack, unless it seemingly suits him?

All these are personality traits which I fear cannot be simply trained out of him.

There are plenty of people in all areas of society who have all the talents in the world, but for whatever reason, lack something which does not allow them to realise it.

I hope Mancini is fundamental influence on which path Balotelli's career can now take.

It's all there for him.

maybe i was a bit too ermetic :O)

balo is recognised as world class and this is showed from the clubs that offered for buy him during the summer (real madrid , chelsea , united and arsenal).

but.

but i can see where you are coming from in your wrong , you are just forgetting his age. he's just turned 20. so you have to compare balo to how were the world class players at that age.

It's not his style to be a terrier like a Tevez, the fake Ronaldo is petulant and doesn't constantly bust a gut but he's still recognized as one of the best.

It's deceptive a lot of the time with Balo I feel. He can be drifting around 15 yards offside then suddenly sprints onside and is in the perfect position for a through ball and the defenders haven't got a chance of getting near him.

I think we need to seperate the UK opinion from the European opinion.

British fans will never take to Balo. He doesn't chase enough lost causes or wear his heart on his sleeve. He is also fast gaining a reputation for dropping to the deck the moment he is touched. All these will contribute to him becoming a hate figure for clowns on tv like Merson etc.

However, in Europe he is considered one of the top 3 young players in the World. A spanish footy mag voted the top 50 young players in world football ( under 21 ) and Balo was second behind Pato.

To put things into perspective in England, look how the media have been blowing smoke up Hernandez's backside at United. Hernandez is two years older than Balo, and has scored 7 in 17 compared to Balo's 5 in 6.

Its gonna be a roller coaster with the kid - but he could be the difference in us getting into the top 4.
