reading tickets selling fast {merged}

Forgive me cos I'm a bit of a no-nothing - BUT this debate goes to the heart of the matter for me. City have a fantastically loyal fanbase, among the best in the league as shown by the incredible attendances in the 'Old 3rd division'. I don't think City fans should beat themselves up about our ability to sell out matches. We've been there, seen it and done it.
But the fanbase is what it is cos of previous years of under-achievement, years of the club paying no respect to fans and years of Utd being successful.
It could take a generation for recent, relative on-field success and fan-centred decisions to turn the tide.
In coming seasons, as CL games become the norm and the team prove themselves on the pitch, a new fanbase will arrive - yes, they will say they've always been Blues, but that's how it's been at Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal, and that's just what success brings.
I say, bring it on. Be proud to be a Blue and let's enjoy what the future brings! Blues new and old will enjoy the success to come - but maybe the 'old' just a little bit more!

1 and 2 hold 36k so we've sold 33k and Reading sold 3k in a few days

Who knows how much demand has been eaten up already. Maybe all who want a ticket have got one, or maybe there's still another 10k after one.

I am sure City will open at least one of the 3r tiers tomorrow. If I were City I'd move the 2,800 Reading into the 3rd tier and given them an extra 2,700 tickets and put that on sale to City fans. Of course it can be done, if there's a will. Reading, and City can cover policing costs. if we can have 5k Polish fans up there doing the Poznan we can have 5,000 reading up there and there would be less segregation costs as South Stand would be all City

Never gonna happen though. Not ever. Not in a 4 day turn around

There are only the dregs left on the OS site so the club needs to open the third tier, pronto
this means fuck all mate.
against wigan it showed there were only very limited seats in the blocks at the back of the south stand where the wigan fans should have been but there loads of empty seats elsewhere.
It is meaningful because us sad cases have watched all those blocks turn yellow from blue, and counted down the dots. There may well be a few hundred that turn up, but we know the bottom two tiers are largely sold out. Whether it's 95% or 99% is neither here nor there

Tis ticket office shambles needs to be sorted, and quick.. and there's only one man who can do the impossible... bring back Bernard Halford!

So in the space of a day or two, most of the North Stand level 2 has sold out at the higher price, on the OS planner.

No demand. Arf!

So, once those 125 seats go, will the club dare to open level 3 and piss alot of level 3 fans off, who have already been moved?
People were saying this mornig there was less than 300 so in 12 hours we've sold about 150 tickets, Do you really believe we are going to sell 12000 in 5 days when they are currently selling at about 12 an hour? Simple maths says the demand isnt there.

Whilst I hope we open L3, what you say makes sense.

At the end of the day it doesnt matter how long you have supported City or if you are a season card holder or not, or even if you have attended every cup game for the last 40 years, this is a F.A.Cup q-final which we havnt had many of in recent years, and every one who wants to go should be given a fare chance to go. Its obvious that the club feels it has to inconvienece the regular attending fans and get them out of there normal routine in order to build a future fan base ( tickets selling criteria for utd and Chelsea away) a typical example where more corperate tickets were sold at the expense of regular away game fans? If the 3rd levels remain closed then the club will have pissed off of alot of regular and potential new fans which in the long run cant be good.

As had already been mentioned, i find it hard to blame the club here.

We've probably averaged around 26k for cup matches this season, now we've progressed to a QF, suddenly everyone fancies the game?

There was no indication going off this season that we'd get anywhere near a sell out.

Tolmie said the day they went on sale that the club were not expecting More than 30k.

I'm heartened that we will have more than that and a better atmosphere.

but all blocks were blue against wigan and there were big gaps in the crowd?
