Reading Vs City Post Match Discussion Thread

Lol at anyone suggesting the team looked 'liberated'. Dead rubber match against Reading, who are shite. We've played like that at times this season just not consistently. Not putting our chances away either, which was absolutely no different today. Again dominating a match and again going into the 85th+ minute only leading by one.

The whole match was worth watching for Silva's pass to Dzeko for the second though. The first goal was well worked by that assist was just exceptional. Shades of the Inter milan friendly. If Pellegrini or whoever can get him back to his best we'll have the league again for sure.
 
The best performance i've seen by this team in a very very long time...all of them were up for that well done boys

Reds been unbearable these last couple of days. They think it's back to the status quo again

maybe the laugh is going to be on them. Ferguson gone, and City stronger than ever

Ahhh haa funny as, really made me laugh. In fairness you could just see the weight lifted off their shoulders and running round like gazelles they seemed 3ft taller, amazing

Played well would be nice to convert 1 in 3/4/5 of our class opportunities made
 
looked on BBC teletext table after game finished - apparently we've drawn our last game 2-2 and finished 38 games, 79 points!!!

He's a sound guy is Brian Kidd , old school from the streets of collyhurst ... a real manc lad.

Looks a bit uneasy in the role of manager though.

But also a fascinating match. We looked like we were enjoying ourselves on the pitch without the manager on the touchline. This was Mancini's team playing the Mancini way in all it's pomp and missing a hat full of chances - like all season. If Pelegrini or whoever can convert those chances into goals, all well and good and we will be back with a vengeance. It might take a new face here and there or a tactical switch.

But a holistic view must also encompass the players as they are our biggest asset. Strategy can mean small adjustments on a big scale. We already have the spine of one fuck of a squad, thanks to Roberto. And it now seems that Mancini himself was the problem so, don't throw out the baby with the bathwater is what I say.

Kind of agree with this. I think it was relief that it was all finally out there and the uncertainty and rumours that must have swirled round the camp in recent weeks was over. We really got the worst of both worlds on Cup final day. We neither squashed speculation nor acted decisively. The move to replace Mancini had been under way for months and it must have filtered through to the players and built from there. In a sense our season got caught in the crossfire of the power struggle between the two factions. Its like an episode of The Borgias.

Anyway whats done is done.
